Except those teams don’t double up. They work on seperate projects. One team is working on the launch, the other is working on a . 05 or .1 patch. That’s how they’ve been getting updates out so quickly. And why they’ve been smaller overall.

WoW has always been a live service. WoW was a live service before that term was in common usage. WoW is pretty much the platonic ideal of a live service.
