World of Starcraft

Would you play it? If so how would you build the game into an MMO?

I’ve always wanted this and it was one of the reasons why I left WOW when SWTOR came out until it went free to play. :sob:

I feel you can do so much more story wise in Sci-Fi without things feeling weird in the story.

I typically don’t like space for playing an mmorpg, but I’ve often thought of a near perfect game that combines the best of FF and best of WoW. If I was going to put it in space I’ve heard good things about SWOTR - so maybe the best of that one too?

Every player has an idea what their perfect mmorpg would be, that’s the problem of waiting for a good game. I wonder if there ever will be another stunner at some point, but someone said in another thread the VRH? (do I have that right?) would be the future and next big thing. Can’t help but agree with that thinking.

Sry, got off topic there. If it had a lot of what I like probably so.

Their going to hold onto the IP and continue to do nothing with it.
And… well that’s it really.

Maybe that will change if Microsoft gets ahold of it.

If they made an MMO of it it would probably be a factionless or flavor-factioned game with playable Terrans and Protoss. It would be hard to run Zerg as a faction, but it’s an interesting idea… maybe adaptations and evolutions could replace gearing.

I’m still hoping for a good 40k MMORPG with playable Emperor’s Children and Slaanesh daemons because… umm… yeah.

not sure it would work as an mmo, but i could see it being some rpg faction-based battle royale thing…cuz space marines you know?

but i wouldn’t play if they didn’t let me be a zergling :100:

blizzard is to busy milking the wow player base with wow tokens its not going to happen.

I’d try it in a heartbeat - I love SC.

It would be… strange to make it work right though. Survival MMO style maybe? Work with your faction to build / take over planets from the other factions. Back in the day, it would probably work well, but today… I don’t think people have the dedication, attention span or cooperation needed for something like that.

I never got into Starcraft but I love MMO’s but I don’t trust Blizz anymore, but I love MMO’s but it will just be gutted WoW only in the Starcraft universe but I love MMO’s.

I’d probably play it, lol. Not sure I’d like it but I’d play it.

Now if they made a Diablo 3D MMO with action camera I am all over that because I have wanted that since I played the first Diablo. Still upset D3 turned out to just be D2 only worse. And now that other Diablo game. Please stop with the 2.5D and just make an epic MMO already. So much potential.

Been asking for this since StarCraft:Ghost.

Diablo IV is shaping up to be exactly this - basically a Diablo MMO.

If I could play a corrupted Terran like Karrigan, yeah.

… I dunno. Guess they’d have to pick some planet were the three forces have a foothold but for some reason no real connection to off-world reinforcements or travel. And because the world is cut off each side has less access to the higher tech of the game, making it more of a hand to hand deal, instead of like siege tanks and battlecruisers.

If it were made by the same team that made Wildstar, absolutely.

… I miss it dearly.

The only thing I like about the Starcraft franchise is that it’s a compelling world (me and RTS’s do not mix), so sure I’d play it. Everyone would want zerg though and I’m just not sure how that would work, they’d almost need to invent a semi-autonomous variety if they wanted them playable. The other two races would work as well as anything in WoW, just extrapolate as they did from WC3 to this. Honestly if they can make playable undead work they could probably figure out a way to make playable zerg, if that was done right it’d be like my favorite thing ever.

As far as books, movies, media in general go I’m about 95% sci fi nerd and only maybe 5% fantasy nerd. So heck yes I would play it though by the time we’d ever see it I may be gone.
