No loot 'cause lol. (all my chars are getting gold each week )
A solution:
Make world bosses drop a token which can buy:
500 valor.
3-4 tokens for 1 great vault item.
A chance at loot.
It would let people gamble as they currently do, but also give options. No, one free piece of a loot a month is not too much; being lucky can get you 4, and being unlucky can get you 0; those two options are far less reasonable.
Also, please split people better so we can actually experience the fight (even if it’s boring.)
Honestly just nix the whole concept imo. It’s impossible to make them engaging. I’d prefer to see an instanced version like in Wrath and Cata if they insist on having weekly loot pinatas.
It’s problem with all these big events. They sound good on paper but turn into a lag fest. Part of the problem is also sharding for these big events. They need better solutions to these problems. They aren’t new and have been around for years.
I feel you on the RNG from world bosses. If the internet did not supply irrefutable proof that they drop stuff, I wouldn’t believe it, because I’ve never once seen a piece of gear off of any of them lol.
0-6 WB loots for me so far, 3 characters out of the 2 weeks love rng, basically the same thing that happened to me in previous expansions months with no drops at all till they made it 100%.
I’d prefer that as well; my idea here is if we keep the open-world concept. But yeah, if the server can’t handle it then may as well instance it…
Hm, I feel world bosses should be a level above it, but if that’s an option for the token then I’m all behind it. A guaranteed lower ilvl item could be good.

I didn’t get this unlucky in SL, but I also didn’t level 4 characters to 70 (one is retired already lol.)
If the servers are lagging they should just fix the lag, don’t need a new system for that. That could tune loot a little more aggressively, but then again RNG has been pretty kind to me personally, maybe a little too kind. Just tune RNG better to fix the issues.
I separated the solutions pretty clearly. Go back and read them; the new system is for loot, not stability. For stability, we just need better sharding/phasing or instancing. The game processes MUCH more info than it did in the past, so aside from massive server improvements I don’t see any other easy solutions.
A hidden bad-luck protection could work, but ultimately what I’m suggesting is more engaging and still allows for RNG to be RNG if you feel like it. Luck is luck either way, so no tuning will actually fix what I want fixed.
I’m confused, you literally list a reason “no game play due to server lag” as part 1 of the problem. If that’s not what you mean structure your post better.
Who the hell knows what that second part means? lol, there’s no context there. Common now. i cant READ your mind you know. I’ve been playing since release and have experienced the content, so im not sure how splitting anyone up helps.
I like them. They’re amusing to heal. Just a bunch of random people not working together hitting a big freakin monster, standing in dumb, doing dumb, eating things that they shouldn’t be eating…
I didn’t have lag issues with the current w-boss but then we aren’t in Lag Span just yet. I fully expect it there.
