I’ve done most of my alts and every armor type got a specific piece:
Clothies got legs (3 mages, 1 priest, 3 locks)
Plate and mail got waist (2 warriors, 2 paladins, 2 hunters, 5 drac)
Leather got hands (1 rogue, 2 dh, 1 monk) except druids
Druids (3) got nothing
There’s nothing random about this. It’s like Zaqali Elders 2.0 except this time I got in on the loot pinata before they nerf it.
I have everything but my Hunter and Monk at 70. All my Clothies got pants, all my Leather-wearers got gloves except my Druid, all my Mail and Plate-wearers got belts.
However, I grouped up with my S/O who was on a Boomkin while on my Rogue hoping if I got the gloves I could trade them to her and she actually got the necklace. So I can confirm at least one case of a Druid getting loot.
My Druid is Guardian and didn’t get anything, her Druid is Boomkin and got the necklace. Any other Druids wanna chime in with their specs and if they got anything?
I’m a boomkin and I didn’t get any loot. All of my alts did, though. I hope I don’t get banned if this turns out to be a bug. Now I’m scared, where earlier when I was running through on the alts like I always do I just thought I was lucky for once.
I ran four druids through the event – Three were Guardian, one was Feral. None of them got loot, just ~125 gold each. I don’t have any Resto or Balance druids at 70 to test with, unfortunately.
EDIT: I was in a raid group for all but one kill, and that one kill was a non-druid that got loot.
I mean, none of us could have known and when a new season starts everyone and their mother is hitting up the world boss on all their characters on day one. And we’re posting about it and providing data, for them to help narrow things down.
So your Balance Druid didn’t get anything but my S/O’s did. Were you in a party when you joined a group for the boss or solo? 'Cause I had invited her to a party with my Rogue before applying to a group. And aside from starting to factor in a million other things like gear, ilvl, the entire comp of the randoms we were with, the alignment of the atoms in the Andromeda galaxy, etc., those are the only things that might have been different.
Well that says it’s not 100% for everyone except Druids then. Plus a Hunter guildie of mine said he didn’t get anything either. So maybe it’s just an insanely high chance of loot instead of 100%?
It’s deeper than this, not only is the loot chance for all classes except Druid extremely high, the items the other classes will get seems to be pre-determined based on armor class. Cloth wearers will get the pants, leather wearers get the gloves, mail and plate wearers get the belt. If druids DO get a drop, it will be the neck, thought it’s very rare that they will get a drop at all. I have a post about this here with other confirming this behavior: https://www.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/17vbmx4/world_boss_loot_frequency/
Looks like this goes along with what those of us in the thread have noticed as far as the trend goes as well. Not necessarily game-breaking since odds are it’ll get fixed fairly quick.
And TBH I think it is nice getting loot from the world boss to start the season off. I wouldn’t mind seeing the first kill of the season per character have a guaranteed drop just so you at least get something to start with.
True. I even did all 3 big weeklies on 11/13 of them last week for their 3 pieces of Veteran gear, so it’s not like I’m suddenly logging into unplayed alts to knowingly exploit a bug or anything. UGH I’m still paranoid though, I should have known better to think my luck would be that good. AAAAAAAAAH.
Nope, I was solo. Joined the first random group in LFG that auto-accepted little ol’ lonesome me. I also flew out to where the boss was and perched up in the little dreamcatcher floating tree thing overlooking the boss before I joined a raid group. Doubt that matters, but I was in my groove and did the same thing for all of the alts. =)
Oh I 100% agree, the issue isn’t the higher drop chance, but the main issue is that druids are getting substantially less items… Whereas most other classes are experiencing a near 100% drop chance, druids are experiencing much closer to 0%. That feels bad, and if it was my main I would be at least a little salty about it. I hope Blizz at least addresses it instead of what I suspect will be sweeping it under the rug to be fixed before next week…
All 3 clothies got the pants.
All 3 leather wearers (Druid not included) got the gloves, with the rogue’s pair getting bonus avoidance.
All 3 mail users got the belt.
All 3 plate wearers got a belt, the warrior’s procc’d avoidance on it too.
Honestly I’m just glad my S/O was lucky enough to get something. She’s been stressing about getting her ilvl high enough for what our guild wants for Normal when we start on the weekend and the necklace was a very nice boost for her.
Yep, sounds about right. I’ve done it on every class and those are the same results I’ve seen, along with others replying with similar results. My suspicion is that anyone who didn’t get a loot drop on an non-druid class must’ve had some weird circumstance to cause the loot to be missed. Either via queueing in a large party, or potentially missing the tag and not realizing? Either way it’s sounding like there’s certainly some silliness going on with the loot logic, hope they get it fixed soon but I wouldn’t hold my breath for any retroactive solution for the poor druid players.
