Worgen trying to get to Stormwind

I had the brilliant idea to make a Worgen. I’ve got too much gold on him to just delete. I want to do dungeons at 15, not finish this stupid questline. Now I can’t find any mailboxes because Gilneas City is abandoned. Is there seriously no way out?

Under normal circumstances, you have to complete the intro quest chain because you’re in a phased version of Gilneas which is not connected to anything else in the world. You can’t walk out.

I think you can be summoned out but I have no idea what your character is like if you don’t finish the quests. I would hope you gain your Worgen racial powers and stuff regardless, but I have no idea if this is the case.

Mailbox in Duskhaven, which is the first town you get to after leaving the main city. You can travel to/from Duskhaven at any time during the introductory quest line for worgen.

Ah. good to know. I’ve never started a Worgen character. Only one I have I inherited from my minor kid who played on my account until he got bored with the game.

The biggest problem people have with the area is the fight against Sylvanus and her minions.

Players get a sword to heal their allies but it also heals Sylvanus if she’s within the AoE cast by the sword. Consequently, her health never drops low enough to do the rest of the script so the quest times out.

All players really have to do at the point were Sylvanus is in the fight is to sit back and watch while the entire fight script plays out.

No I don’t.

I got stuck in the zone for a couple days last time I made a worgen because of this final encounter. There was a giant group leading everyone, telling when not to attack, but a new person was always coming by and bugging out the encounter over and over and the group of stuck players grew. It was only a couple years ago.

For the OP, I believe I summoned a friend out of there on my warlock last year. You could also find a friend with the mailbox toy that could make a level one worgen to meet you. There are also a handful of YouTube videos about how to escape to Westfall at level 1, but not sure if that’s permitted here. Given the zone bugs out so easily, I’m not sure if there would be a problem with it.

For future reference, you can skip the worgen starting zone by using Exile’s Reach and escaping the island at level 10.

I believe the next time you login your racial abilities will be activated at the proper level even without the quests.

That is true because players would leave the Worgen starting area before getting infected.

I’m not sure if it’s still possible, but players used to get out of the zone by swimming along the coast to Silverpine Forest or The Hinterlands.

Do you still have the harth stone?
Use it and it will bring you back.

The video I saw involved a lot of swimming with some careful use of the teleport to graveyard stuck character service (sans hearthstone), since you get sent to Westfall when your home is unknown.

I actually did try swimming that specific route to try to res in Westfall. I tried for about a half an hour, but couldn’t get around the invisible walls.

Looks like a second thread was opened (Can a Game Master help or no? - #19 by Aik-khaz-modan) and you have completed the Worgen starting area so I’m going to close this one up.
