"Worgen tails aren't lore friendly"

LOL! I feel that way often, hopefully they come around after six months or so.

It’s a curse, not a natural evolution.

And regarding the title:
Worgen have existed in WoW from Day 1. They have been depicted in the same tailless way from Day 1. Slapping a whole new piece of anatomy on a well-established race like Worgen flies in the face of consistency. People don’t grow new limbs out of nowhere. That’s the sole reason I don’t want to see Worgen get tails, despite it being a popular request.

In my book, if Blizz wants to add something like that, it needs to be done through an Allied Race. Worgen never got an alternate. Their alternate could have a tail, plus whatever other minor differences they want to make (some variation of the alpha models? idk). That would be fine, because they’re NOT the same Worgen. It could have new lore to explain the difference that wouldn’t make sense to apply to a long-term existing race.

… All of that said, if Blizzard caves and ends up adding tails to base Worgen, I’m not going to kick and scream about it. I think it’d look good aesthetically and I’d probably use said option on my (1) Worgen.

It’s something I oppose logically out of a desire for the game world to have consistency, not something I oppose aesthetically, and if it finds its way into the game, it’s not going away and there’s no longer any reason to continue arguing against it.

Everyone should join this, this server is great. I don’t even like discord and even I missed it to the point that it was the first thing I asked for when I returned to the forum XD

Tangent, but this is a weird statement to me. Discord itself isn’t… anything. It’s a chat app. The app itself should have basically zero impact on whether you like it or not, because it’s almost entirely about the people you’re interacting with.

My issue isn’t the discord app itself, but rather the fact that most people I have added seems obsessed with using almost exclusively voice chat and I HATE voice chat. I don’t even like using my phone to talk to people. Sometimes I send a message on a group and it will take days for people to reply even though I see them online on the voice channels.

This server doesn’t have that, which is one of the reason I like it so much xD

Weird. People do tend to like voice chat, but in my experience if its not for a shared activity you’re currently doing (like raiding or otherwise playing the same game together), text chat gets used plenty. Really does just depend on the server I guess.

but what if a worgen got “naughty” with something that Does have a tail… that’s not a new limb out of nowhere… unless her name was Nowhere… LOL

Oh and mutations can occur xD
I mean, some human people irl have been born with short tails before due to small genetic mutations, why can’t, idk magic cause some worgens to mutate and develop a tail too, right? xD

A tail is the line between werewolf and furry. Tread it carefully

Finally a lore friendly request i can get behind. Shadow word: gun already exists in the lore and blastoise, a water pokemon has a freakin cannon on its back.

I had a pet goat in a D&D campaign once and you made me think of it.

Their link to the Sythe of Elune was there from the start. If they weren’t intended to be druids of the pack from the start, it wasn’t a huge reach for Blizzard to make them so.

Really we never got any answers one way or the other exactly what was going on. The questline that would have explained things abruptly ended, but it is obvious from the text it is incomplete and Blizzard never got around to finishing it.

Which lore books specifically talk about tails not existing for Worgen? There isn’t any, and it doesn’t make sense since they changed Worgen lore multiple times anyways. Both Druid forms, and in regards to Goldrinn both have tails. The fact Worgen don’t, is the oddity here. It’s simple ‘stylistic choice’ and there’s NO lore reason why they don’t have one, stylistic choice can definitely change. Look at plenty of their OFFICIAL Hearthstone art to see them with tails, the OFFICIAL concept art for playable worgen that had them with tails, etc.

In Before the Storm, one passage mentions Genn Greymane having a tail. Christie Golden explicity confirmed that Worgen do not have tails.

I must stress, that this is only the current lore. It can be changed.

DHs no longer see in the same way we do. Its explained in the Illidan book.
IIRC: Their sight is based more on sensing magic going through/around/whatever in objects.
Where we see a brown table, they see magic going through the shape of a table.
Kinda vague, sure, but if someone else wants to explain it, too, I’ll be happy to stand corrected if I’m wrong.

I doubt the majority of players would even notice if one day tails were suddenly there.

No lore reason cited, and again they write the books and don’t have a say in what’s cannon or allowed as others have cited for their own sided. Let me know when the original dev that made Worgen talks about it, and the original dev for playable worgen talks about it~

Give Worgen Tails!

Warcraft isn’t Lore Friendly to the Werewolf Fantasy then. Werewolves are suppose to have like Tails and such.

A lot of things in the “Warcraft Lore” are pretty much scattered, could make a case for Night Elf worgens having tails though.
