I don’t think it’s bad but I think it’s frustrating that people out there are making fan-art that has more quality and life to their work than the resourceful and talented designers at Blizzard. But hey…we still can’t get cloaks to not clip into 2019…so I don’t know, I am not even shocked anymore lol
wuuuuut. For sure they could fix those shoulders. If this is the worgen set though I’m lvling mine…
I agree that shoulders should be fixed but i still think the set can do without them just fine.
Could replace them for something else, maybe a different head piece, like that tiny hat the female Gilneans used
Obviously the tiny hats were all lost with Teldrassil. I think there were female worgen wearing them in Darnassus.
It probably won’t get revisions like the Kul Tiran set because there’s probably no one at Blizzard to course-correct the visuals of the Worgen heritage armor, as 8.3 is yet another small patch that is likely merely being assembled by a skeleton crew following instructions while it’s all-hands-on-deck development on the next expansion.
They probably don’t have one single artist working on anything related to BfA anymore. Therefore, the Worgen heritage set is likely releasing more or less as-is, and all feedback will likely be ignored.
At most they might do some minor tweaks, but probably nothing drastic like with the Kul Tiran set.
I do wonder why Wowhead is showing the jacket as having the complete 3D components when in-game it doesn’t, though.
It would be great if the jacket chest piece actually is supposed to have the complete jacket model, but it currently looks like it IS intentional that the chest piece contains only half of the jacket model and that Wowhead’s model viewer is simply bugged, as the icon for the jacket shows that it contains only half of the 3D part of the jacket.
A thing I keep forgetting to mention is the fact that we aren’t getting any variants for the hat either, evidently. The Worgen heritage set was an opportunity to include “top hat with monocle” and “top hat with glasses” as variants to a top hat appearance, but Blizzard apparently decided that having variant appearances for more than one slot would be too much for some reason.
I think it’s odd that they didn’t even seem to consider the idea of doing alternate top hat appearances that include additional components like monocles and glasses.
How it looks ingame? mind showing a screenshot?
The set has grown on me a lot since the first look at it. I’m still hoping they see the feedback and make some tweaks to the shoulder armor. I will still happily use the set without it. But it’s also clearly meant to be the ornate, standout feature of the armor. I would like to use it. Just not in its current form. Shrinking them would be a good start. But I also think a bit of asymmetry like on Greymane’s HotS model would also be cool.
Oh, and of course I would have preferred a long coat. There’s still time, blizz!
I’m also disappointed in that something I personally was hoping for didn’t come to pass. And that’s that the armor would appear pristine in human form, but torn and tattered when in worgen form. Like Greymane in HotS. It would have been a nice touch. But that was just my own pipe dream. So it’s not a factor in my judgement.
I don’t really have a way of posting screenshots at this time, but what I’m referring to is that currently on the PTR, the jacket chest item only has half of the actual jacket model.
In order to have the complete jacket appearance without the dress, you have to use the chest and legs appearances together.
On Wowhead, the Dressing Room puts the full jacket model on the jacket chest piece for some reason, which is not consistent with what’s going on in-game.
I’m not saying I hate the set or anything, but I find it a bit odd that so much of the set is “everything or nothing.” I’ll probably still use it on some characters regardless, but it definitely looks best when using the chest, belt, legs, boots and hidden cloak as the absolute minimum baseline for transmogs.
I’m still not in love with it, but admit I’m surprised how much difference it makes taking off those shoulders. I didn’t realize it caped over a bit there, and that’s the style I would expect to see more for the worgen. The gold isn’t as overwhelming, and the shoulders being off don’t make it as mismatched [though those boots are another story].
I tend to think it looks better on the female, as her coat tends to give the longer and looser fit. But anyway, nice job on pointing out it’s potential.
OMG that tail looks freaking dumb and probably impossible not to make it cilp, I hope they never implement it.
But that armor is amazing, love it.
I really don’t like the colours and in my opinion, the trim would look much better if it was silver or a dull white. I’d also prefer the coat to be longer. Those shoulders are just bad though, I hope this set gets some love before it released.
Was it too much to ask to get a darker gilnean style long coat like Genns current one? This armor will be alright but was really hoping they would go a bit more for it. I think goblins and gnomes looks pretty plain as well. Guess they just have some better inspiration for some races and not as much for others.
You should check the human model again.
Why do you think i posted both?
The Worgen model doesnt have it for a reason, the heritage doest for the same reason
I’m not a hater of the heritage set, but judging from those pics you posted of Genn in similar attire, I would say the easy fix is switch the set to be one-shoulder armored and designed exactly like that bottom pic. Those shoulders in the heritage set just need a tweak. They’re not that off.
And as you pointed out, the heritage armor looks great with the shoulders not showing. There’s the solution if Blizzard doesn’t change it, which I doubt they will; they have a history of not making many tweaks to visuals once it hits ptr.
If it changes to a coat when you go human form then my argument is invalid.
Make the shoulders smaller. They are just way too big.
Also, if the coat was longer as well, that would make it perfect in my opinion.
their art team is trash now
Arg, bling for worgen. Just sad, imo.
