Worgen customization options - the big list

Some food for thought on various things the worgen community (or at least quite a few of us; yes, I know, not all of you) have been asking for for a long time.

  • Separated worgen and human form customization + more human options OR redundant worgen fur/human skin options - EDIT: At the very least, we need redundant fur color options for the new human skin tone options. Having 3 options of black fur (which I hope is added), white fur, etc., and all other furs that connect to different shade of human skin tone would be better than nothing, at least, and allow us some customization of our human form without assuming our skin tone based solely on fur color.

We basically need this now. With all these amazing new options for all the races, it’d frankly be downright disrespectful of the new options - especially the new skin tone options and the face and hair options - to not let worgen players actually choose what their human form looks like independent of their worgen form selections. Let us pick our options without assuming based on our worgen form and give us access to more (or maybe even all) of the human options. At this point, with all the variety in humans now, there’s no way the worgen customization could really be passable without letting us choose what both our forms look like and locking certain fur colors into certain skin tones, or eye colors, or hair colors - any of it.

  • Solid true black fur option for males and females - I heard one was datamined, but I haven’t actually seen it on a model yet and that makes me nervous. The solid white looks great. Let’s let worgen have a good solid black that is actually black - the females have had a good one since release, but males never got one.
  • Tail options - You knew it was coming. Tail options. Give us an option for a wolfish tail. The vulpera get to have one, we should, too. And yes, I know the lore. If nothing else, give us a quest where we unlock the option by becoming closer to Goldrinn, but worgen should have the option to have wolf tails. The saberon druid form had a tail, the humanoid bear form has a tail, and all other humanoid animal types in the game (as well as all druid forms) have tails. Worgen would look so much better with one. But, again, it could be an option, so if people don’t want one, they don’t have to have one.
  • Posture options - Let male worgen stand up straight. Maybe even let females slouch if they want to. It’d be great to have options for both.
  • Wolfish ear options - Just another customization options - some worgen ears that actually look like wolf ears instead of what we have now.
  • Hide weapon transmog - Let worgen hide their weapons so that we can actually use our claws in combat like all the NPCs do. It’s so preposterously silly for worgen to go into battle wielding giant goofy looking weapons when the NPC worgen get to use claws like worgen actually should.

The absolute pipe dreams section (not that this entire thread isn’t probably a pipe dream, but still):

  • New customization option for everyone: HEIGHT meters - I do not like that my worgen, namely my male worgen, feels so small. If there were height meters, I could have a big worgen and everyone else can keep the smaller male worgen if that’s what they want. Then we all get more options! Wouldn’t that be cool? It’d be like so many other modern MMORPGs out there with height meters.
  • Wolf druid forms for feral, tank, travel - I swapped my worgen druid to night elf, finally, because I was so tired of being a bargain druid without good druid forms to myself. Why does my werewolf turn into a cat or a bear to fight? Because he needs claws and teeth? He already has those. Worgen druids should turn into wolves for feral form, tank form, and travel form. Not just feral - both feral and tank. This could also be a quest or just glyphs; I don’t care. I’m just tired of my worgen turning into a cat and a bear and a deer when he should be doing all of it in worgen form or else turning into a giant wolf.
  • More worgen class options - Monk and paladin, at least. I could post big walls of text justifying the lore, but I’ll keep it simple and just say that. I’d also love to see Kul’Tiran paladins and goblin monks…
  • Male worgen dental, swap upper/lower canine positioning - I’d love to see the male worgen teeth arrangement be fixed. The female worgen teeth are actually arranged properly; the male worgen aren’t. The male worgen upper canines come before their lower canines, and to anyone who studies animals and predators (and wolves), it looks obnoxiously goofy. No predator has teeth arranged this way, and it isn’t this way in all of the art. They’d look so much better if their teeth were in the right position.

The TOTAL pipe dream section but I want to say it anyway:

  • Voice set options for everyone - I really wish I could change my female worgens’ voice. I would also love to be able to play a worgen from, say, Hillsbrad or Duskwood who doesn’t have the British accent and isn’t from Gilneas.

Yes!!! I want to be tall and graceful, as long as being tall meant I wouldn’t be fat to.

As for the tails, yes. Yes, yes, YES!

I am in favor of several of your suggestions.
Many are bold and difficult to achieve, but if we are going to dream it is better to exaggerate.

Yes, that would be good.

I would like this cosmetic possibility.
Blizzard does retcon when it wants to make things easier.
Why not with that, that doesn’t interfere with gameplay?
I would like to, but the number of people who would be piercing their own eyes, to see this happen, would be tenebrous.

You have to be in the horde for that.

I don’t see devs attending to this. I think somewhere, they said that we wouldn’t have something like that in FF14 / ESO / GW2 that allows us to customize the characters in this way.
One day maybe?

Would it be good for worgen? Would be!
I would love to be a paladin.
I would love to be a monk, like a Jon Talbain.

But again, this comes up against the resistance of Blizzard, of lore, which is only used when it is against ally and some who would want the same in the horde for other races, so Blizzard keeps this Pandora’s box closed.

Some will say that worgen are already having enough and that we don’t need anything else. :wolf:

Well, no one imagined Blizz would add a completely new race of super detailed little fox people - and then make them playable.

… But yeah, they’re Horde…

All of these sound great, but the one I really care about is upright Worgens. Its absolutely crazy that Orcs and Trolls got upright models but for some reason Worgens didnt? I honestly hate to jump on the “Horde bias” train, but god almighty, its getting to be pretty obvious and this is just one example.

I’m honestly really happy with the update we got in BfA. About the only thing more I could ever ask for is a hide weapon option.

I just want my theoretical worgen to look like a scary killing machine tbh

Giving this a little nudge.

Love these suggestions, and especially want to bump the tail option! Very necessary.
A non-scratchy voice would be excellent, female worgen particularly really lose a lot in the transition.
Also, we need more class options- add shaman, monk or paladin, please!

Agree with everything and would like to add being able to select different hair/mane colors individual of fur color. Ditto for taurens and pandas.

I definitely agree with that.

No you filthy furry! No tails

Worgen never had tails and werewolves in general are barely seen with them. Makes zero sense

Werewolves have tails all the time, in both pop culture and especially in legend. In legend, werewolves were defined by having a tail; witches did not. Look up the folklore (on a real source, no wikipedia) if you don’t believe me, but I know you won’t bother.

The only very popular werewolves that don’t have tails are the “lycans” and they suck, anyway.

There are a lot of options worgen desperately need to actually look decent, and one of those is tails. All other animal people and animal shapeshifters in the game have them, so worgen look downright silly.

But this isn’t a tail thread. I’m talking about a lot of different things here. But maybe if it just turns into a silly tail debate it’d stay bumped, I guess.

I just googled werewolf and 90 % of the pics don’t have tails

And then I googled do werewolves have tails and I found this as the first result

There’s also a reason that vulpera have tails and worgen don’t. Worgen are half human, vulpera are not.
