Blizzard is doing a few things, like adding a quiver as a prize for defeating Syl and glasses.
Did they now realize that simple things (which the community has been asking for years) are a way of capitalizing on the players’ interest?
Well then Aunt Blizz, add the stack, better customization options for worgen that are being suggested here in this megathread.
Tails, ears more luipnas and that represent less night elves, more color options, posture option like that of orcs, hairstyle for worgen like the ones in Alpha at Cataclisma, tattoos, earrings and everything else that we see being present in other races.
Blizzard likes shooting themselves in the foot a lot. They promise something or say they are going to do something, then half-*** it and act surprised when the community bursts into outrage.
Then they don’t listen to the community and repeat the cycle. No, the cycle of war didn’t need to be broken, Blizzard’s cycle of stupidity and bad decisions needed to be broken.
Give worgen the customizations, Blizz. No race that came after worgen should have more customization options than them, that means Pandaren too. Male Pandas alone have more customization options then both male and female worgen put together. That’s dumb, throw in more options for the best doggos of WoW.
The community I hang with calls it the “emergency button” syndrome.
When the game’s getting bad press, or is having subs drop like crazy, they just trickle in a few things here and there we asked for. The last one we joked about was the Void Elves getting flesh skin colours; High Elves were such a massive request for so long that they could generate hype just with skin colours.
I’m actually apathetic as all hell about the glasses/quiver because I can’t get excited about something that should have been in the game over a decade ago, that’s a base vendor thing in pretty much ever other game.
People getting hyped about something as minor as glasses just shows how deprived we are on basic customization options in an MMORPG.
I’m not going to be happy until I get my tails (and hairstyles/colours like the alpha models), and we have the range of basic customization stuff that other games provide. (…I still want hair under my hat.)
Void Elves got copy-pasted skin tones, and the same assets Blood Elves got because you can literally drag and drop them.
They didn’t actually do anything for them except attempt to lazily deal with the extreme community backlash that had been happening since their introduction.
It was either that, or we’d have 12 High Elf threads on the front page per 48 hours instead of 4-6.
Actually doubling down on the character customizations they said they’d be adding throughout Shadowlands would have been extremely well received.
The big we got was a good start. It’s still mind boggling they dropped the ball on it.
With WoW being their big cash cow, it’s surprising how little we get in return at times, especially simple things.
Unfortunately, true.
I saw several customizations in other games with even the option to dye clothes to other colors.
But since something more complex seems to be out of the question, unless we have customizations that are suggested by the players.
I honestly want to know where our money is going. This game is absolutely lacking in everything that isn’t competitive PvE at this point, which still sounds stupid to all my IRL friends who play this genre - just other games, because “outdated”.
Probably some is at least going to the stupid Warcraft mobile game they decided they just had to make. Only Warcraft game I’d wanna play on my phone is this one…and I already can.
Cosmetics are superficial. If you dont care about them dont bother entering discussions about them?
No, I think you’re like alot of posters here unfortunately. Rather than come here to add to a discussion you come here to suck the life out of the room - with smug satisfaction, adding no creativity or objective discussion. Just here to kill discussion with a pointlessly bleak attitude.
You’re comparing completely different games based off of differences in how they have cosmetics. I do like mogs, but I also like the game feel (and game performance) better than how I look in the game. That’s why I don’t see value in comparing games based off of appearances
When it comes to the cosmetics in this game, it does not impact the game play or performance at all. The art team is a completely different group from the actual systems and design team.
The art team can literally not do anything and it won’t impact the game play. What it will impact thought is the actual player base since these days, a lot of the players love their cosmetics. Heck, the reason I got in to mythic raiding and bothered to push for decent arena rating was because the cosmetics.
Don’t get me wrong thought, I absolutely love raiding, but cosmetics definitely pushes me to do way more than just that, and actually get out of my comfort zone, and in to some pvp action.
That being said, give worgen tails, and all the other cool worgen cosmetics we need so people will feel a bit more encouraged to play worgens!
