Worgen Customization Mega Thread

Quality observations/plan here.
Let’s make this happen.

I liked this formulation. But devs seem to avoid responding to anything that makes them give direct and objective answers.
We can only hope that they can choose to answer that question.

Or that something said on the 19th and 20th may include the worgen and bring some light, enlightenment for all of us.

More customizations for Worgen that make Worgen are valued not as an addon for humans.

Please Blizzard.

If you have any worgen related questions, ask away! Taller worgen, full black fur, more ears, actual hair styles, tail option. Keep it simple, stay positive, and ask away!

Ready.
I have already sent my question for further customizations for worgen.
Now it remains to be hoped that Blizzard will not shy away from at least saying something related to Worgen.

Already sent my question too.

My question’s been sent, too. More options are always a good thing, after all.

I like most of propositions, especially for jewelry, but I am not that convinced on tail to be honest, becuase worgen were never meant to have one.

But what I’d like to have is the option to have absolute lack of hairstyle (bald?) As Alpha model showed.

I think it looked great and I am not a fan of the “mane” hairstyles. even if they’d add braids and such.

More options are always better and Worgen concept art was all done with them having tails. Regardless of the crap rush job model we got the original concept stuff that even got printed in the special edition book had tails so that is why we ask for them to be optional so those who want em can have em and those who don’t can keep the old look.

The artwork was then incorrect, Worgen since vanilla never had tails :

This is why I am not on board, it would feel like artificial addition against the lore.

But what lore are you talking about? Where in the lore is it say Worgen can’t have tails? After all its a magical curse and could be altered so why claim a lore reason for not wanting an optional tail? Or do you have another reason and if that’s the case just come out and say it. After all the Lore of Warcraft is not set in stone they have changed it many times to suit their needs so why must we stick to a strict no tails its not lore in this instance? Also Worgen are confirmed in lore to be 8 feet tall but in game they are 6 feet 11 inches isn’t that lore breaking? You can’t have it one way and not the other.

Do you really need a text confirmation that their model since Vanilla never had tails? And it’s been a thing for past 16 years?

The models were also low poly count trash back in the day as WoW tried to go off what models existed in Warcraft. That don’t mean that is part of the lore. As Garrosh says “Times change”. A highly requested change is that Worgen be given an optional tail, upright stance for males, lore correct size and so on. Its simply character customization that gives players more looks to make their character unique.

P.S. Even the female troll model got changed and updated. You ever see the old model?

So were Tauren model low poly, but they had tails.
Kobolds were also low poly, and they also had tails.

Maybe the reasoning why they don’t have tails is to show that they’re cursed humans in their core and humans don’t have tails.

Tauren and Vulpera are humanoid animals that came from Some elevated Wild God.
Worgen didn’t. They’re cursed humans.

But it didn’t change their base characteristics. So I fail why it was used as an example?

Anyway, just saying why I feel this suggestion is off to me. Why I don’t buy these explanations because it feels like a decade too late and it would feel like artificial addition.

In that your wrong it took Blizzard 10 years to correct the train wreck that was the rushed model that was Worgen. Why you are so dead set against tails being something optional makes 0 sense as your not the one playing the race. What I make my character look like has 0 effect on your game play.

And yes the original troll model for females was terrible. Had that model gone live you would have had the same player reaction that Worgen got where the player base didn’t want to play the race as much due to a terrible model for the females. Worgen player base has suffered for 10 years of neglect and the changes to the model in the update have caused an influx of new people playing the race. Hence why more options are always better.

They corrected it, and after that correction, they still didn’t have tails.
I’m not dead set, Blizzard is - I’m just saying that it has been a thing from its very inception, and after plenty of updates they still don’t have tails. And why to me it would look artificial if they would add them now.

I never denied that. And I am very happy that they received the revamp they deserved and why do you assume I don’t have a worgen toon? Sure, I’m not super devoted to it, but I do have one.

Actually they did. The original Worgen form was a druid form explored by Night Elves from Goldrinn, the wolf Wild God. However, Goldrinn’s rage was too great for them to control and they went wild.

To the point of the vanilla models without tails - I believe I’ve heard that the devs hated the fact that tauren had tails due to the difficulty the model gave them to implement, so it makes sense they would want to leave tails off of whatever they could as the team was significantly smaller back then. But don’t quote me on that, I could be mistaken.

Additionally: Ion has directly stated that he does not want his team to be burdened by choices made over a decade ago when it comes to players getting new options for customization. Using the vanilla model as evidence is a moot point due to this declaration.

I’ve submitted my QnA question regarding worgen customization - though my tendency to get wordy has played against me in this case with the word limit. Curses!

I am happy with the customization.

Then let people choose if they would like a tail or not. If you don’t want it the reason we are asking for it to be optional is so you don’t have to have one. But if you do want it you can choose to use it.

Only Worgen tails something that is purely cosmetic in nature have people saying no you can’t have this cause its lore breaking. The lore is long dead and no one cares Blizzard just dose things without regard for the lore anymore in the name of options and as a fan of the lore im fine with the other changes they have done its not hurt my game play what so ever.
