Worgen and Goblins never blink

So all four of these otherwise awesome new models never blink. It makes them look like empty, soulless dolls or something.

I’m not sure how such an oversight can even happen. Where is the quality control? Don’t be in such a hurry to finish that you forget basic biological functions. What’s next, no more breathing animations?

BTW Kul Tiran males (but not females) also don’t blink.

I don’t blink irl, I have to use eyedrops

Oh no booboo, that’s not an oversight. That’s just the way we are. We’re always watching, Gulrum. Always watching.

Zandalari males don’t either. Neither do lightforged draenei.

That’s just a couple I’ve looked at so far.

Yea, they should all be fixed because little details like this actually matter.

EDIT: Upon further inspection it seem no draenei blink. That’s a design choice then it seems to me. However the zandalari female blinks (because she uses the standard troll female model albeit slightly modified posture).

It seems as well there is blinking tied to the ‘shuffle idle’ animation where they look left and right on the worgen male and female, but not on the standard idle pose.

EDIT 2: Add both goblins to that list.

I am going to pretend I never read this post.

Otherwise it will bug me while I’m playing my mage.

I’m on my worgen warrior right now, and had to stare at her for awhile to see if this was true. They do blink when they sniff…I wonder if they do when they sneeze too.

One thing I don’t have the patience to test is are the blinks on say humans random, or are they tied into a certain part of the idle animation? If the whole thing is on say a 10 second loop and the blink always occurs at the same time in the interval.

Both Worgen and Goblins blink quite often if you roll a Mage

I’d be willing to bet that they have no intentions on ever fixing this, too.

That’s why we should be making more posts like this so that issues with character models like Worgen and Goblins will actually get fixed. If everyone’s dead silent about it, the devs will ignore them.

I blink plenty, but only while stealthed.

Exactly! Especially since someone just brain farted and forgot to add these before hitting save. There is no reason to defend absent-minded modeling.

I’m pretty sure most models don’t blink unless it’s specifically a part of an animation.

My Darkspear troll doesn’t blink either. He does during specific idle animations (and at certain moments) but never randomly.

Pretty sure blinking before on old models was just making a square appear over the eyes briefly. Happened on a timed basis regardless of the current animation. Used to drive me nuts when I zoomed in. Now that I think they actually have proper eyelids, they need to be deliberately made a part of the animation since this game doesn’t seem to use procedural animation at all.

Goblins evolved from Gilgoblin who didn’t need eyelids, they just have simple nictitating membranes to protect their eyes.

Worgen just are too focused, If I am holding a ball my dog isn’t blinking, his whole world is now just the ball.

You can actually just go into the character creation screen and start making a new toon, then look at their faces while zoomed in. Most of them do blink, but several of the AR additions and the new worgen and goblins are missing them.

It’s like they hired a new modeler that didn’t remember to add them or something.

Please help Blizzard resolve these issues quickly by adding your findings to the topics in the Bug Report forum, or through the in-game bug reporting tool. Please make a separate report for a different bug.

It is wild how many issues are with the new worgen models. Besides the non-blinking eyes, the glowing eye options don’t emit light in pitch-black areas, the footsteps are missing footprints, there are many sounds missing, and many armors clip excessively.

I got another one: the worgen male’s non-glowing eyes are opposite of their human form. The blue eyed worgen has a human model with yellow eyes, and the yellow eyes one has a blue eyed human.

Having the goblins smiling more would be an even better addition.
Have you seen their teeths? Really gives them character.
Unfortunately they only show when they look over their shoulder.

The footprints issue is probably one of the most upsetting bugs IMO. They broke footprints for Running Wild back in 8.0.1, and then the issue was ignored until they partially fixed it in 8.2, only to be immediately downgraded back to one footprint again for 8.2.5.

Let’s see how long it take for them to fix it again. At this rate, we’ll probably have to wait until 9.1.5 for the next bugfix to Worgen footprints, and then watch as they immediately accidentally rollback the fix again and then we wait a few more patches for the next fix.

Currently, they can’t even hold fixes to the “irritated/annoyed” lines that NPCs cycle through when you click on them repeatedly. For some reason it’s become a game of whack-a-mole where they fix some NPC voice lines and break a whole bunch of others. Also, Lashk is still using the wrong lines for greetings and farewells. The lines intended for his greetings are being used erroneously as his farewells and vice versa.

I really hope they do some fixes for Worgen and Goblins in 8.3, especially regarding blinking, eye glow, missing sounds, and missing footprints. A bunch of races I think still need bugfixes as far as I’m aware. For instance, I don’t think they’ve fixed eye patches on male Kul Tiran humans yet. I’m not sure if they fixed their mustaches yet either.

This reminds me of the Darkmoon Dirigible mount. Originally bugged and lost its engine sounds while moving. This was fixed when BFA came out, but when they fixed the mount sizes in 8.2 the Darkmoon Dirigible suddenly lost its engine sounds while moving again.
