Received an email from the jack pocket lotto app I use to digitally buy powerball tickets, that I had won. Ideas of buying WoW and putting dungeon finder and dual spec into it came into my mind, but alas, I only matched the powerball and won 8 dollars. So close, yet so far…

The latest one was ~650 million.
That is definitively not enough to buy out ActiBlizz. You’d still be very short of the necessary funds, buddy.

Could maybe convince them to give away the rights to classic, not modern WoW though. Might have enough leftover to buy Arcanists from jagex as well and bring that game back too.
Except this makes absolute 0 sense at all as both an idea or even a concept in copyright law pertaining to franchise IPs.
I bet if someone offered 200 million for vanilla through cata, all at once they would sell it. There’s no way they make more than a few million dollars a year off classic as it stands given the sub numbers. That right there would be like ten plus years of revenue at once, they could use it for retail WoW which is what they already do.

It would take more than 200 million and the only way to “sell” the rights to half the game is to close off anything relating to that part of the game, which would be a nightmare.

Ya via theft, the state and feds take a percentage of winnings. Like if one were to win the 670 million they would actually end up keeping like half of it or less. Same thing if I sell any of my stocks, the guberment steals some of it.
Everything gets taxed multiple times in America.

I play like 3 times a week, thats only like 40 bucks a month or whatever. I consider it to be an investment strat, like a yolo buying penny stocks. Only with the lottery, it’s total return vs total loss.
just wait it out another year or so and blizz will be worth half that.
6 months losses of almost 20 percent. BIG OOOF. Would have been a really good buy and hold stock if you had it since like, 1997 or whatever, but I wouldnt buy it nowadays.
