Won a free Northrend Heroic Upgrade, and need help deciding on what class to boost

So, I woke up this morning to find out I had won one of those giveaways on Twitter that was handing out free Northrend Heroic Upgrades to followers. My only question is, what class should I boost?

Right now, my choices are either:

Gnome Warlock
Draenei Shaman

I like both classes/characters, and while I prefer to DPS, I don’t mind healing. I also know that Warlock has no Legendary options in Wrath, while Resto Shaman has a shot at Val’anyr in Ulduar, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to commit enough time to being able to raid in Wrath Classic between two jobs and Retail.

Any advice?

Even if you can raid I highly doubt you would even have a shot at a legendary.

So play the warlock.

Do you want to be a tiny harbor of evil and death? Someone who uses wicked spells and scary demons to make up for people laughing at you for your small stature? How about comical relief for every dungeon and raid your apart of?

Pick gnome warlock then.

But…

Do you want to be beautiful? Then pick Draenei.

Both are very sought after classes on alliance. So you’ll have an easy time finding groups/raids. So decide if you want to heal/DPS or just DPS.

Pick the one you least want to level.

Val as a Lego is a unite common a 25 man raid team gets on every approx 6 weeks. With only 4-6 healers needed that’s only 24-36 weeks give or take to get everyone it. A avg phase is at least 3 months or 12 weeks there is enough time to get without spilt runs and without them adding shards to 10 man and they might a raid team of 6 healers Val by end of wrath. A raid team with 4 by end of toc. These are short phase estimates to more than likly will be longer than 3 months a phase.

This is before mentioning your disc preist won’t be getting it so raises his pro even more.

Wrath is the first xpac it’s vary realistic to expect a Lego if your a constant raid member over the xpac by the end for both Val and shadowmourn.

In the ops case thou as not planning to commit to a raid than ya likly wouldent but as he’s unsure about that can’t really say he won’t get as he might end up picking to commit. Given your answer was “even if you can raid” that’s just wrong as if you can commit to a raid wrath is the first xpac your quite likly to see a Lego.
