I understand there are numerous issues with Wintergrasp. When you are on offensive and getting stomp, the game shouldn’t last another 20 minutes plus after the towers are down. Period.
Also please can we stop backfilling people into games that are over in minutes? What a waste of time that is.
Yes, that’s the reason everyone leaves if you got stomped on offense because it takes far too long to lose. Whereas if you’re getting stomped on defense, you might as well stick around because it’s not going to take long.
Seriously imbalanced.
I just got booted from a Wintergrasp match for suggesting exactly this.
You weren’t booted for that. The only way you get removed from a battleground match is if other players reported you AFK and you did not enter combat in the 2 minute warning period you’re given (or the 1 minute if you’ve been reported AFK many times before).
Isle is the same problem. It still takes forever for walls etc to go down even when you are getting stomped. And premades purposely drag out games too which makes things that much worse.
Yup I’ve seen several stories of premades who keep IoC matches going as long as mechanically possible. They take down all 3 gates and let the opposing team maintain control of the 2 smaller nodes to continue to gain reinforcements to drag on the match into the 2+ hour range.
Behavior like that really should be actionable.
WG is a badly designed epic BG for sure. To backfill into a bad WG O is the worst. Once all towers are down I think it’s approximately 12 minutes left in the game. So if you choose to AFK out once you backfill you won’t waste much time and may actually save yourself some time.
I’ll stick it out in an Ashran or AV all night if I have to. But certain conditions in WG or IoC will prompt me to leave and find something more efficient to do.
I wish they would have made new maps for epic battlegrounds rather than trying to convert world PvP events into battlegrounds.
I wish they could find a way to keep them open world or closer to it and relevant.
