No, Blizzard already did that by not play testing wintergrasp before adding it in BFA.

I’m beginning to wonder if perhaps devs believe that the (obvious) imbalance of defense-vs-offense is just a learn2play/get gud issue, in which case it makes sense that they haven’t taken any action.

LFR N’zoth is a good example of this :joy: …remember how there were all sorts of complain threads about how it’s a wipefest even with 10 stacks of determination? But no action from devs.

They never “fixed” it/toned it down for the LFR crowd, presumably because they believed it was just a learn2play/get gud issue.

It can’t possibly be that they haven’t seen all the feedback/complain posts about Wintergrasp, I find that unlikely especially with the sheer amount of such posts popping up post-Shadowlands launch. Lol, like half the front page of this board is threads with “Wintergrasp” or “WG” in the title.

We have to at least consider the possibility that the devs don’t see a problem with the bg in it’s current state. If they don’t see something as “broken”, then they don’t take any action.

Actually the Devs are ruining the game by leaving something that is unplayable and the only choice is to leave. Don’t blame the players blame the game.

As long as cannons can 1 shot me from a mile away it’s not a git good situation. It’s a please dear lord fix your game situation.

I want no part of Siege maps till they do 95% reduced dmg against players so there is actually PvP in there. Cannon dmg to players should be 1-2k and should be used to destroy structures as intended.

I mean… on defense half the team could AFK and still win with all walls up. I’ve done this on both factions. If it’s a learn to play issue, why is it that everyone knows how to play perfectly on defense and are complete “noobs” on offense? It’s not like it’s a complex battleground.

i’ve seen offense win the game in shadowlands, so it’s partially the players fault for not even trying. i agree the battleground needs work, but 20+ people leaving before the gates open is absurd

Not sure if I want to feed you or not usually best to ignore. However many of these cannon blast are completely unavoidable. You can’t see them coming. Please stop trying to defend something so obviously broken it’s just stupid. Not to mention Air ship in isle… It shouldn’t be dmg players much less kill them exiting the GY :man_facepalming: it should be to kill cannons. Count me out till they fix it.

Let me introduce you to the ignore forum feature now I won’t see your dumb comments. You know dam well people only Que Random and that they just need to have a very very simple QoL feature to fix it. Not only that Blacklisting will improve the game and give the Devs data on BGs that need work so they can open up a dialog on what the community is looking for in PvP which would help for when they do design a NEW map.

Deserter will only continue to go up until the Devs fix what is broken and make the BGs enjoyable so there is a reason to stay. This is common sense FYI.

No one wants to get deleted by hilariously broken Siege dmg. Why do we even play this game and gear up if a Siege just instant wipes you out. It make zero sense and most players won’t try till they are fixed. You see a Siege you run or leave the BG. It’s that simple. This is a Dev issue they have to fix.

I can certainly see mile long cannon blasts hurling through the sky. You might too if you focused on the battle more than trying to count the number of leavers in chat.

I don’t even remember what people’s gripe with Strand of the Ancients was?? I played it all throughout Legion and didn’t have any issues with it? :man_shrugging:

It certainly had way more PvP than Wintergrasp, and the games ended in a timely manner. Plus it was actually balanced, since both sides “took turns” playing offense and defense - instead of the onesided BS going on in Wintergrasp.

SotA was a neat little bg imo, I don’t understand people’s dislike for it :man_shrugging:

Actually won one yesterday on offense. The key is to hold 3 WS and guard them while continuing to build and actually hit their walls continually. It’s not easy to pull off, but it can be done.

Id say 75% of the issue is that most rando’s dont get the BG, so they dont have any coordination. Not only that, they dont care enough to actually bother to learn the BG, they are happier just being able to complain about it.

Yeah maybe if 5 people posted in the forums their latest QQ and rant about blah blah BG sucks blah blah I’m losing because…
But there are thousands of people posting 100% win rate on defense team and none or extremely low win rate on offense team. That is not a git gud issue but a balance issue. If half the bg leaves the moment they zone in and see themselves on the attacking team it is a balance issue.
It has been posted that, and I can confirm because I tried it in game, the demolisher’s cannons do not damage walls unless aimed at 1 very small and specific point on the wall.
I have seen cannons hit players for 7k a pop but mostly do 4-5k a pop. Vehicles do even more. I can straight run into a group of players hit Ram and chunk all of them for half their health or more. That is a balance issue.

I believe the demolisher cannons doing 0 damage to the walls is a bug of some kind, up until Shadowlands launched the demolisher cannons worked just fine on the walls.

Wish they did 0 dmg to players and just dmg structures like intended. At no point should a Siege do more dmg than a player. We literally fight dragons and old gods in hand to hand combat.

Why don’t we march Sieges to kill these Raid bosses? Oh thats right… we are stronger. It’s a shame the Devs have Siege maps so wrong. Hope they just get removed because I doubt they will balance them and ever make them about PvP.

Needs a complete rework. Even on defense it takes way too long to win and is a complete snoozefest.

Average que time 9 minutes. You have been in Que 15 minutes now. Thats how you know a WG is about to pop. Just leave que and re que immediatly.
