Greetings!
I’m Mist, I’ve been playing this game for about 18 or 19 years now, and well I don’t think I’ve ever experienced something as game-breaking as what I’m about to describe to you.
It all begins with where I believe this problem started, Icecrown. This zone for the most part was a joy to playthrough, with little to no bugs(at first) and a plethora of rewards for little to no effort. If I’d known that in doing these quests I would bug my character in the way that it is then I would’ve steered clear from the zone.
There’s a quest in Icecrown called Army of the Damned. You get this quest from a small little ghost boy named Matthias Lehner in Icecrown. DO NOT DO THIS QUEST. I don’t know exactly why but when I began this quest; it almost instantly bugged out. The mobs began switching between what I’m assuming are layers; vanishing and reappearing with full hp. This wasn’t a big deal at first but eventually, I was desynced from the game. Mobs would not die. Actions would not register. The world just kind of froze.
I had to restart my game and when I did I was dead. Cool, no big deal right?(I wish)
Upon logging back in the game was now registering me at the graveyard. Wherever I went I was locked within this graveyard regardless of what I was actually doing. Cool, I’ve seen something like this before; so I asked a friend to assist by getting on my account and ‘hopefully’ fixing the problem.
Yo, dope it worked. I’m fixed now.
I resurrected with res sickness and instantly did the quest again with no issues. Awesome, some badges of heroism and problem solved.(heh)
When I looked up to go and turn this quest in to look for the Skybreaker(alliance warship) I was excited to go and claim my rewards. It took me a minute to find it(like usual) but I was excited when I did. Then it vanished… again… and again… and again. One moment it was in front of me, the next miles away, then back, then 20 ft to the left… now it’s on the right… now I’m inside of it. (this still hasn’t ended; it still happens to this day).
The only conclusion I have is that it must be shifting me between layers. I must be rampantly shifting between each layer on my server and I’m seeing them all at once, the only explanation I have for it.
I thought to myself, ‘well that’s inconvenient but; not the end of the world.’ Glitches happen, nothing perfect and we all know that by now Classic is understaffed so; hey screw it’ move on.
This next part is the part that infuriated me into making a post.
Now that this has happened two things have happened outside of Icecrown that never occurred before. First I am permanently suspended from Wintergrasp. I am at 39 marks(one off from my pre-bis helm) and I no longer can enter the battleground. I’ve tried for hours. Every three hours like clockwork hopping on and being told,
"Greetings, Mage.
The battle for Wintergrasp fortress has begun! Hurry to Wintergrasp and support our forces!"
Specifically, I’ve not done Wintergrasp to warrant this ‘ban’. I realize early on there was a bug of some sort that allowed you to complete Wintergrasp 4x a lockout period. I’ve not completed the 1x lockout period to warrant this happening. I saw this occurring with other people, or at least what I assume was the same issue. A few of us trying to spam into the battleground but to no avail, it just doesn’t work.
So I can’t get my pre-bis helmet and hit raid full pre-bit… okay no big deal; it happens. Maybe I’m crazy and the two aren’t related.
Then, I tried to do Strand of the Ancients with my guild.
Defense first, sick(we got stomped). Not a big deal it’s usually how Strand goes, one group obliterating the other. However, the issue is when I went on the attack side.
The boat was immobile. I was on the boat with my guildies and I was like, ‘Okay, maybe it’s just a fluke and we are all going to teleport in?’ I’d heard they were having problems with boats so I figured it was an issue we were all experiencing so I didn’t even mention it in Discord.
A few seconds later; it begins… everyone runs off the boat and vanishes from existence and THAT’S when it hit me. I’m still desynced from Icecrown. I jump off the boat and low and behold I’m out in the middle of nowhere swimming to strand.(I manage to get there as we lose).
All in all, this needs to be fixed. I tried getting help, maybe it was my side and not my account? Nope… any attempts to assist would not fix the problem. It is now confirmed that my account is locked in this strange state. I need help.
If you have the time please reply and spread the post around. I made this so hopefully, it wouldn’t happen to you, and in the future, if it happens to another it’ll get fixed, or at least they’ll know a solution.
