"Wining" the Raid?

Spoilers for the end of the raid…

Defeated Sylvanas in the Raid. You knock her down, and then you get a cut scene where she if victorious?

Am I missing something? OR did Blizzard just decided she was going to win, but they had to put her in the raid because fans would expect it?

I guess it is like our “defeating” Jaina, but we have gone from “kill stealing” to “win losing”?

She didn’t actually win. She just thought she did, until she finds out that Satan remaking the deathverse isn’t actually an equitable thing after all, oopsie.

The whole time, she was making her own situation worse and (somehow) never realized it.

Just like Zovaal, when I am topless, I just let the nips do the talking.

Notice she got all uppity once he put on a shirt.

She was knocked unconscious by Zovaal, not by us, the fight ends at 50%. The entire fight is basically just her distracting us while Zovaal gets to go ham on the arbiter.

Think about the challenge their story team has: they need to explain why the villain presents an ever-increasing threat to the heroes, even though the villain loses every encounter.

Their solution is the absolutely insane story template of “Yeah, you destroyed my X. But, I didn’t need my X to stop you, while I still have my Y.” New quest objective: destroy Y.

She did win the fight because she successfully distracted us.
Also, she then was forgiven for everything and got away, so an absolute win

I don’t think passing out at the scene of the crime, with law enforcements boots approaching to contain and interrogate you, counts as getting away with a crime in most jurisdictions.

She did get away because she was suddenly friendly and got welcomed back with open arms, despite the heinous crimes she commited.

Even Tyrande out of anyone is ready to forgive her now. Especially with Elune abandoning her and the Night Elves to side with Sylvanas instead

She got away… by laying in the same spot.

I am too drunk to try to argue with that. I want to enjoy my buzz.

By getting spared, welcomed back with open arms and forgiven by those that are owed justice against her.

I’m flabbergasted Blizzard mishandled this story so badly

I expected SOME mishandling certainly

But this is hitherto unseen levels of mishandling of delicate tropes.

Technically it was the Jailer who won, and he wasn’t a raid boss in the raid. Ofcourse it is weird that Sylvanas just shrugs it off and is fine in the cutscene after the raid.

As for her winning, well, in typical fashion, Wait and See™.

Are you from the future or have some kind of information about the story that no one else in the world knows? Because I have seen the end of the raid and the things you said have not happened. Not saying they won’t. You’re being a bit irrational it seems.

Which part?
The distraction should’ve been obvious, then we have Tyrande being built up to forgive Sylvanas in a later chapter that was available on PTR, and we know from the writers that Sylvanas isn’t going anywhere.
Thrall also, instead of keeping his promise, spares Sylvanas and they welcome her to Oribos.

Sylvanas is going to be taken to Oribos and questioned. She hasn’t escaped anything. Also I have not seen anything about Tyrande “welcoming her to Oribos” so are you speaking from actual confirmed information or just speculation. You need to make that clear when you say things here or it could mislead and confuse people who come here for story information and updates.

Yea, instead of being brought to justice.

She has escaped the justice that was coming for her. So she basically got away with all the unforgivable crimes she commited because it’s fine when she does it.

I’m talking about the upcoming Ardenweald chapter that was available on PTR where Tyrande doesn’t want justice against Sylvanas anymore. So even she’s ready to forgive her.

Also, she talks about some weird things like “We have to focus on renewal” when the Night Elf souls were obliterated in the maw, so the writing once again makes 0 sense just to give Sylvanas a pass.

They are going to hold onto that narrative until the story either flat out refuses it or follows it to the letter, it’d be best to just let the conversation stand until/unless the points can be directly refuted.
EDIT: otherwise, prepare for a long series of posts on this debate. It happens a lot.

Again, speculation. Where are your sources. Are you just saying what you think is going to happen or do you have actual proof this is what happens? Please stop saying things that are not true unless they are unless it is your opinion.

What? It literally happens in the game and is live already, I don’t know what to tell you.

Why do people like to use that word incorrectly?

It does not literally happen in game. Thrall suggests she might have answers, and Bolvar suggests his Death Knights detain her and interrogate her in Oribos. Which, I guess counts as a welcome, but not exactly a warm welcome.

The scene you describe does not literally happen in game. That is another falsehood from you.

Speaking of… I wonder if we will get a cinematic with High Inquisitor Whitemane slapping Sylvanas around during the interrogation… I can see it now…

Whitemane: “I have had enough of your clever mouth, witch.”
