Windows 11 and WoW

Has anyone played WoW on the new Windows 11 OS? I’m considering an upgrade from Windows 10 to 11? I’m looking for actual experience based responses, please.

Running WoW on Windows 11 for two days now. No noticeable impact on my end. The only negative I’ve found so far is the bloatware.

Yes I did yesterday. Works fine but your mileage may vary. I did do a full format before installing it though just to make sure I didn’t have junk laying around that could potentially affect performance.

Windows 10 had bloat too and some of them were removed AFAIK (Cortana stuff).

Thank you. This is good news. The bloatware can be managed easily enough by simply disabling it. Once again, thank you.

I did a complete system recovery and just finished installing the applications that I’m interested in keeping. Thank you very much for the response.

Nope and nope… I am a windows 7 hold over and will be until they make it obsolete in wow. Windows 7 was and is still the best o.s microsoft ever made and it was the last of their great era…

Everything after was either spy trap nightmares or was just flat out trash.

When that day comes when Blizz shuts off service for windows 7 I honestly don’t know what I’m going to do.

So, I don’t know if any of you had this issue but when I go to windows update it says I don’t meet the system requirements to free upgrade, however when I use the pc health check app it says congratulations! you meet all the requirements. XD I AM SO CONFUSED! Did anyone else get this? If it works good with WoW I am more than happy to upgrade.

Next expansion they won’t support windows 7 so you may as well start figuring out what to do

Source? Would be nice

Probably a TPM 2.0 issue.

Source? Windows 7 went out of service January 2020

When windows XP ended in 2014 blizzard was kind enough to support XP users one more expansion during the transition of Warlords to Legion

They then warned XP users they were cutting out XP soon

By BFA blizzard cut out XP support

They did it once more with giving people a chance with Shadowlands since Windows 7 ended right at 8.3 of BfA

Windows 7 times coming to an end, get over it and move with the times

Is Cortana gone from Windows 11?

That might be enough reason for me to upgrade.

Plus it seems that you are getting real defensive over my seemingly harmless opinion.

Go outside and get more fresh air and sunshine. It might brighten up that attitude of yours

They didn’t

Legion launched in 2016

By sometime in February of 2017 they made a thread saying “by later this year 2017 windows XP will no longer be supported”

They gave XP and Vista users 6 months advance before the inevitable

Windows 7s time is coming stop denying it

That’s an interesting take, since they didn’t announce the minimum system requirements for Shadowlands until August. Historically, the previous poster was correct, they drop OS support the next expansion after the OS goes out of support. Luddites should be planning their obsolescence options now.

Okay, that was a bit harsh for this conversation.

I never understand why people cling on to old and outdated operating systems

You’re more bound to be vulnerable to viruses and backdoor problems trying to use old software

Microsoft gave any windows 7 users a free upgrade to 10 yet some never took it for unknown reasons

That’s like saying you took the flu shot 10 years ago but want to justify it’s still good for today’s flu season

WoW’s engine should be updated to modern gaming engine standards, and then they could push for their players to move to W11 or whatever else the future brings.
