Hello!
I have recently returned to WoW and the last time I had played was prior was when battlegroups for pvp were in place. At 60 on alliance (solo) I have a horrendous losing record in normal BGs. If I’m lucky we win 20%. I was curious if this was just a sprint of bad luck or if this is usually the case? Epics are usually 50/50 dependent on the bg.
Probably just a sprint of bad luck. I downloaded the Reflex addon to keep track of my w/l cause I thought I was losing way more than I actually was and the addon proved me wrong. I have had long losing streaks that feel bad but I still overall have a positive WR.
Alliance sucks pretty bad at bg’s for me. I have played 12 bg’s today and won not one. Hell, there was one bg where not 1 horde died. These are not just losses…they are straight up embarassing.
I won a good amount today. I have good days and bad days. It appears to be random.
I won 2 and lost 2, having a bad day today.
First loss our healer was afk, 2nd loss our healer was not healing.
Feels like a ton of people in there to farm some easy gear and they don’t actually want to be there.

Not sure that’s all because of afk healers?
Any other factors you could think about for losing so many bgs?

Probably just bad luck. According to reflex, I’m still somewhere over 50% while solo-queueing as a casual Alliance in randoms over the past year or two. According to my armory (longer timeframe) it might be a little lower.
I’m not saying that you’re lying, but I doubt your W/L is really as low as 20% over any significant period of time. It can certainly feel that way in a slump, though.
You’ll get some win streaks and some losing streaks. You’ve just got to play each battle as well as you can, keep learning and improving. If you play smart and keep practicing, you’ll eventually even out and your stats will eventually look better.
I really think that looking at each battle as X% chance to win or lose is a mistake. It doesn’t matter what your “win chance” is. Only the final score matters. Every battle is yours to win if you outplay your opponents. Your own play is, by far, the most important factor in determining the outcome of your battles.

This toon was “born” when the Shadowlands pre-patch arrived so her stats are all recent. I PVPed with her on & off up through leveling and a moderate amount since hitting 60. This should give you a decent idea of what my win/loss ratios have been for each respective BG.
