If not BDK, what tank will you be maining ? I am moving to Druid.
I dont see the tier making up for getting insta killed by melees because you cant death strike fast enough. Maybe give tanks besides bear a little armor?
You betcha.
Thats on S3 set bonus ?
Will play blood dk, prot warrior, and probably brew. Usually take all my tanks up to 2200-2500.
Buff WotN to be (20/40) instead of (15/30) or make FC baseline so we can take Stoneskin
Stoneskin 5% stat Rune ?
Yeah because if Fallen Crusader was passive nothing else would be good for blood.
Looking at the list:
Hysteria could cause RP over capping which is bad
Razorice literally doesn’t work because we don’t do frost damage at all
Sanguination is bad because it has a 5 minute ICD
Spellwarding is kinda useless given as how we already have short AMS
We don’t have a perma ghoul and not even Unholy would ever want that
Stoneskin is 5% all stats and 5% armor
Unending Thirst is bad because Blood really doesn’t much of a use for more haste because of Unholy ground and stat prio, healing for 5% hp is laughable, the movement speed sounds nice, but we know blood is already slow as it is you should be routing better to minimize the amount of time your group is not in combat.
So yes, if Fallen Crusader was a passive that we didn’t have to have on our weapon, stone skin would be the best option.
All those Runes and we only run one. Rather sad.
Rune Sang looks great if it did not have the long CD. Blizz should remove Blood Draw or add Rune of Sang to a tree. It has no place in the Rune Forge list.
It sure makes Death Strike feel like a satisfying damaging hit, though. Felt like more of an executioner as Blood than Arms at one point because of how much it’d chunk stuff.
Crazy idea: what if it did % of blood shield as dmg. DNW would allow it to cleve…oh wait thats SR and that doesnt play well at all with BDK.
staying frost dk as i have been the entire time.
I feel that sentiment but I feel like playing blood it would be easier to actually play the game and not the group finder mini game lol. Blood with new set and legendary sounds enticing. It plays well too. Hard choice right now to be honest.
i like dps more.
Well, before the Transfusion pvp-talent was removed (sadly not available for Blood, never understood why really, it suits Blood well ) running Sanguination with Transfusion gave you a really decent RP-dump using Death strike who usually outperformed Froststrike and Obliterate.
Even thou a few pathes later, frost damage got buffed, so Frost strike started to catch up and even pass, but you still got a nice damage output along with heals. Sadly, like most fun things in game, it got removed.
It would be nice to have that one back for blood, to increase it’s damage output some.
I’ll be playing blood prot and brew. But I’m not sure what to main. I guess that depends on the legendary axe coming in season 3. Might make blood meta.
Just need… Heart Rend to be a perma passive…
Maybe not my main tank. Of the tanks I’ve tried, I think warrior might be my favorite. I haven’t tried Veng/BrM though.
However I have given up trying to DPS as a DK. Nobody wants to take me for anything above a 16. Not that I cannot do those, but nobody wants to take a DK unless I get crazy lucky. As Blood, I can consistently get into groups above 16 at least.
It’s pretty bad. Epidemic just never scaled and landed unholy in the same place soul rend DHs landed.
S1 I could play super-epi and it was great stack diseases, dnd, SS and you could dodge while dumping RP into outbreaks. Big pulls were an easy 250-300k which was nothing to sneeze at S1.
It’s pretty rough in S2. Most DKs I know run frost for M+ now.
I ran Unholy for S1, and ran Frost for this season. At first, I had a lot of fun with wyrms and hitting Oblits for huge damage.
However, it just doesn’t seem to offer any sort of utility. It has a brez but that’s just not enough, not with Paladins also having a brez now, it’s a lot less in demand. The DPS is also kinda meh too. If it was crushing it, that might be a different story, but when you have to streamline and cut the fat so much from a M+ group, DKs don’t even get looked at.
I think the lack of a Lust is really what does DKs in. If you aren’t crushing meters, you better have a Lust. And since DKs are kinda just meh, and don’t have a Lust, it means you’re a charity case basically. I mean, frost can do pretty big dam on big pulls with huge oblit crits (assuming you get to stand in DnD for more than a second before AoE moves you out of it) but you could also just bring a mage and get damage + utility.
