Do you have an exact date when it will return? Can you link me where blizzard stated to their paying customers when it’s expected to return? Has there been any news? No? Keep boot licking, I’m sure they greatly appreciate it.

I mean it’s ultimately on me, but I chose to delete a 54 druid to make a Remix one, then lost interest nearly immediately and just went back to retail.
I fully expected the service to be gone, and am in no hurry or fretting over that deleted character, but would like to know when/if it will ever be an option to restore. 
Not everybody that thinks they should address this is wringing their hands over dozens of deleted alts or something. It’s a service that was there, is now gone, and there has been very little explanation or information about it. Perfectly fine for people to ask for more.

Asking for updates when the playerbase hasn’t received any news isn’t a problem at all, but again, keep boot licking I’m sure they love it.

It’s not weird at all. I have deleted lots of then for various reasons.
Too many alts, burnt out on that particular toon, and so on…
Anyway, I must have missed something…a post maybe got removed or something. Why is everyone so angry?

Because there’s an annoying bug when you click on a character and it doesn’t register randomly, causing people to not think twice about it, thus leading to accidental deletions.
Being against this quality of life addition to the game with no news or update to it being brought back, I’m just not going to take seriously.
People said that when the expansion would release, people said that when season 1 would start, and still nothing. The truth is we have no news or updates and anything else is just speculation.
No one knows. Nefret came in with attitude to belittle and dismiss people who are wanting more info on the restoration service, got called on it, went hostile, swapped to Gorgona and now refuses to believe there was ever a bug with character deletion, after claiming if there was proof they’d read it— which they didn’t and instead just keep calling people clowns and being hostile and dismissive. It’s an interesting Twitter-style meltdown.
For my character, it was a level 50 Retail Warrior that I wanted to delete. The confirmation box said it was for my level 50 Retail Warrior. Then it went and deleted my level 70 Remix Evoker. It wasn’t what I asked it to delete and wasn’t what was in the confirmation box that I read three times to make sure.
It’s pretty wild. Some are wondering if it has to do with the favorites section.

You’re forgetting the issue of where if you want to restore a character you only have so many days to do so (per this chart).
The clock is running for many characters.
We’ll get it back, the only real question is when?
The next patch is currently the most likely candidate.
Probably by the time Blizz gets all the bugs fixed first. I’m guessing that’ll be by Brewfest of next year.
