Doubt they’ll “unsquish” the system is built around it now
And idk why they did it, no one who was doing 20s cared

EXACTLY!!!
Doubt they will fix it in season 2. Their mindset this whole expansion has been to increase difficulty for the same ratio of rewards compared to DF S3 and S4. Sure they have nerfed a couple things but it pales in comparison to the difficulty vs rewards in DF season 3 and 4. I have little hope that that difficulty ratio between gear will return with their current mindset. If they do, I will play S2, if they dont, I will probably skip S2. Just not worth the mettle. Maybe if the dungeons were actually fun but they have filled them full of mechanics that are not fun and again with their current mindset of difficulty I doubt S2 will be any different.
I have a source inside Blizzard and they slipped me a piece of the Season 2 patch notes early:
Mythic+:
I more so dont mind them being together in keys. More so dont enjoy them being squished together for scores. Having to alternate weeks made content last longer and not be stale as quick.
Mythic+:
Fixt 4 u
My ego?
My main point is that being able to go up to +20 or +25 keys just gives us more content. Where as right now, 9s are boring, you do 10s/11s and fail 12s in pugs.
That pretty much gives you 2 keys levels that are actually enjoyable and not a pug disaster.
I highly disagree considering this is the most engaged ive been in m+ out of all 4 seasons ive played (this included).
I did not enjoy having to wait a week to earn io. Its much more satisfying IMO to have io based solely on the key level completed.
If u need that number to keep you engaged just push higher. I really dont see why you would advocate for what is basically a cheap trick for blizz to farm engagement out of us.
Are keystones 2-9 fun to you? Are you doing 12s and 13s? If neither are true, that leaves you in a place to have fun in 10s and 11s… The above average player seems to be in the 2500-2600 range. Im not as worried about io as I am to having more content to do.
Keep both affixes on 10+ and combind tyran and fort scores. Fine with me, but unsquish keys so that we have a far bigger range of keys that the average player can push up into.
I just miss pugging it without it being a nightmare experience. I don’t run keys now unless at least a couple friends are around, in which it’s pretty lame that I can’t hop on solo to run keys without dreading the idea of it now.
This is the way
The thing is, when we pugged, once in a blue moon we met awesome people that got into discord with us. And they were top players had amazing IOs that we just chilled with. We did lowbie keys that we were having our little fun in discord, and they wanted mindless keys after a hard night of keys.
Sometimes we became friends with these people, and it was pretty cool, fun, and helped build the wow community. Also they helped us improve our own game. Good Times.
RIP
M+'s biggest issue is the clown show class balance. Shaman has been getting away with murder all season.
The way things have been going, they gotta make every single dungeon in the next rotation have no poison dots.
Maybe they can uncap some classes capped aoe idk. The issue is the meta.
Nothing has to change for this to happen. Just go into low mythics and dominate.
You can do everything you did before. Can still farm gear in 2s and 4s.
If not Shamans then someone else. Theres always someone on top. And for how Shamans have been since roughly BFA, its nice to see them on top for a change.
Next seasons TWW dungeons are a lot less dispell-y
Sometimes I’m in “party” mode IRL and I don’t feel like paying close attention to mechanics, yet it’s fun to go into low mythics and dominate. This is currently not possible with the M+ design right now.
Absolutely is. When im tanking 2s and 3s in 555 and 560 ilvl, you can easily do what you want in 600 ilvl gear in low mythics
Been leveling up alts for “party” mode and doing just fine
M+ hasn’t been crazy so far. If anything, I’ve been surprised how good some groups are. Like really good. I’m not even half the player some of these folks are.
Though I guess it goes without saying there’s still the bad groups. Like really bad. Like tank taking way too much damage (From not using defensives appropriately) and blaming the healer for not being 20 ilvl over the content to sustain them bad.
Ran an 8 SV on my tank. 9 deaths in the first pull. And i didnt even pull all 3 groups. Left the last one just to see how the group was gonna go.
They body pulled it anyway.
37 overall deaths. I had 1 lol
Whether or not they fix it, it will still be the best gearing source in the game.
It’s hot garbage and needs to allow for meaningful progression again.
I actually have liked the removal of fort / tyran weeks. That said, I dislike the heavy emphasis on certain classes can accomplish the +10s and higher. Not to mention the massive negative social atmosphere Blizzard created with the timer deaths.
Unlike in dragonflight season 3 and 4 where people were willing to bring non-meta classes / ungeared / hasn’t timed yet players into their key. Now we get stories of hours long waits only to brick a key. It’s awful and murdering the social interaction (yes yes go find friends / run your own key). Sometimes friends are not online / don’t want to run my key saving for friend.
I think these dungeons would feel better if they made tanks less papery and healers to actually use their heals instead of dropping a poison totem. (Thank Blizz - you nerfed priest in to the ground because you couldn’t foresee your affix, and did the same to shaman).
Lastly, the gear gatekeeping and crests. I serious miss the days we had bullion vendors for RNG protection and we could gear correctly instead of getting gimped due to 1) lack of playing time.
didn’t pick the right class
whatever mess up that is now causing dungeon servers to lag and desync mobs vs players (I will track down the blue post regarding this)
