Will they ever buff warlocks?

I check the patch notes every day for an entire class overhaul, or at least a few more spells added baseline to make them somewhat competent compared to other classes (particularly in PVP situations), and nothing.

Should I just move on?? Lol

For this expansion? Yeah man, unless you have some special attachment to your Warlock, I recommend against it. They started average and have just been falling since. Since there won’t be any real big changes until at least 9.2, and even then I doubt it. Getting no changes alongside the uncapping aoe as well (most of ours is uncapped already) which means the one niche we were amazing at, Affliction in keys where half the dungeon is pulled at once, will no longer be the best at. We were punished for destro being playable in bfa so now nothing is. (Don’t tell them about how strong fire mages were in bfa and still reign supreme though).

If you want to be a caster be a mage. If you want to be a caster and also move whenever you’d like, be a bm hunter. If you want to win all the time, be any melee (mainly WW monk or Warr). Everything else is kinda pointless in this meta.

I feel like I have to give it 110% in each and every PvP match or PvE dungeon/raid and it’s still not enough.

There are so many spells we have to use in conjunction with each other to achieve maximum viability while other classes don’t have to struggle so much and take much less time to ramp up their damage.

There’s probably going to be some sort of warlock buff in patch 9.2 which will probably be the tail end of shadowlands anyway meaning we won’t really be able to do anything with it and they’re probably going to be focusing on 10.0 anyway meaning warlocks, per usual, get buffed of the end of an expansion only to go back into the new expansion weak again.

This is the way

nevermind us being the best spec in nathria and one of the best specs in SOD right?

for PVE i dont know where you guys are getting your raid history from but warlock is consistently A-S tier in one of its specs in a raiding environment like clockwork. this is the “weakest” we’ve been in quite a while and we are STILL strong

If im not mistaken, I believe Aff currently S-tier in myth plus.

Yea, I feel you, Between RL, and kind of getting bored of the game in general, and Fantasy football season, I kind of fell off lol. But here we are, still going strong.

I could try and convince you on how Warlock is a good class in pve [because it is] say it’s good and bad points.

But in the end, the decision on playing a class/spec is all about how you feel about the spec, about being confortable with playing it and enjoying it.

If you Don’t like it, feels like it’s weaker than what you want and are not enjoying the class then i do believe it’s for the better that you experiment other classes and or specs for the sake of your enjoyment of the game.

Is this regarding demo shredding meters in mythic SoD while getting every PI available?

Just curious what parameters you’re using to market us as “one of the best specs in SoD”. I’m not doubting you just want to know what data you’re gleaning that from.

If it’s mythic raiding, then ya demo is insane provided the aforementioned caveat (PI). If you don’t have PI, demo and aff go fall a little, demo naturally falling more. Destruction has been and feels like will continue to be bottom feeder provided nothing beyond general movement is required and single target with adds, otherwise other classes are just better.

I’m just curious what other folks opinions are, I don’t mythic raid so my data is purely for heroic raiding which I know locks are good at but not melting like mythic.

yeah, moved on to a shadow priest and am having a way better time. Lot less work to spread dots, free defenses, casting while moving if i choose a pvp talent, a talent for multi dotting, and applying two dots at once.

Warlock players are masochists at this point.

I love my lock but as a Destro one-trick, I saw how poorly I was scaling early on, compared to other specs/classes. Destro started mid-tier in raid and M+ and has dropped dramatically. I still like playing my toon and will keep him up to date, probably even finish the grind to 2500 io, but I’ve swapped to Brewmaster, at least until 9.2 drops.

Also, minor gripe, but the fact that Quantum Device is still a god-tier trinket for Destro with Cinders tilts me. The trink is a sim trap but when it works, it’s amazing. That trinket alone makes the playstyle even more frustrating when things don’t go your way.

This is Manni btw.

He means Affliction was the best spec for progression with Nathria, good in every encounter.

Demo even without PI is one of the big pumpers of single target in SOD.

but in the end this all is irrelevant if you are not confortable playing the spec or the class, if you are not happy with warlock play another thing.

^ pretty much yeah, i see Mythic as the bar for what performance actually is, basically what a spec is capable of in the hands of someone who can play it to 95%-100% of its potential.

i was very much not that person this tier in terms of demo, i loath the spec, but i play with a few INSANE ones who put up some disgusting numbers.

My Aff lock is definitely my most powerful toon “out of the box”, but I think locks are stat specialists and the super low diminishing returns celling in SL has and will continue to hurt them as the expansion goes on

Oh I’m super comfortable playing demo and I absolutely love it I just wish it wasn’t so punished on movement and last night was the first time in my raid for the past several weeks that I actually was able to consistently get PI and it felt so good (had to bribe the other priest with soul stone but it’s so worth it). I can see the difference with and without and it’s pretty wild.

There’s definitely a couple quality of life things that demo could use but the spec itself is pretty fun and I really do enjoy it I just wish it was less punished by movement.

Warlocks aren’t too but they aren’t in a super terrible state.

Aff just got redesigned so I doubt another one is coming.
