Will Sylvanas return help or hurt the game?

she didn’t save it from that last time

She literally told us to be proud in the Horde.

She killed the Horde, tried to get Azshara to murder her loyalist, and told you point blank that the Horde is Nothing.

Sylvanas and her inner monologue. Probably. Maybe.

I could easily see it. Of course I’m also of the opinion that we could have had a good run with a solid case of cultural and personal values clashing to create a conflict but instead we got stuck with a stock “good” vs evil bs mess.

I mean it wasnt a genocide and even Lothermar at least seem to want to move past it.

It doesn’t have to be a genocide to be bad and become a legitemate grudge. But it seems Lor’themar is just as spineless as Aethas here.

I was referring to her attempt at genocide of the widows and orphans of Ogrimmar.

But the purge being “just” ethnic cleansing is pretty bad.

If you are talking about that, that was already common knowledge as of Warcrimes, having said that she has the mitigating factor of Garrosh having just wiped out her own city 2) she was exactly in her right mind due to the mana bomb.

As a side note with The Exploring Azeroth book bringing up the attrocities of Brennedam and blaming it on Sylvanas I am now even more skeptical they plan on bringing her back or at least as a member of the Horde.

Sylvanas is becoming the scapegoat for the Horde crimes of the Fourth War.

“It’s okay when we do it.”

She was in her right mind when she sent troops to invade Horde Sovereign Territory.
She used her military city as an asset in the war against the Horde and used her civilians as a shield to ensure that no one would ever attack the Alliance therein.

Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: In the aftermath of Theramore, my first instinct was to decimate Orgrimmar - to kill every man woman and child in the city.
Anduin Wrynn says: …Jaina!
Anduin turns to look at her, stunned at this revelation. She turns to him in response.
Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: I’m not proud. Since then, Kalecgos and I have talked at length about power, and how it should be used.

She specifically says she wasnt proud of it.

As per Chronicles 3 the conflict between the Horde and Alliance was already in full swing before Deathwing even came onto the scene.

She invaded the Barrens because the Horde was invading the night elves and she didnt use her civilians as a shield anymore then say anyone just living their lives in their home.

Not sure what you are on about. My response wasn’t even to anything you said. It’s just the usual collection of excuses for the Alliance. (“It’s OK, that she has attempt genodice, she just lost a close friend in a battle.”) And random irrelevant cherry picked facts.

In otherwords, the usual.

I’m glad you agree that Jaina wasn’t neutral, attacked the horde, and manipulatively used her civilians as a shield to keep anyone from attacking the alliance war center of theramore.
:relieved:

To be fair, the civilians were evacuated. Though that does put in a crimp in cries of “genocide”.
