The quote you cite is not a response to you, it’s a response to a reference to the Sylvanas depicted in the Golden book. Which for sure is one of the cornerstones of New Sylvanas.
People. Just staaaaap trying to make Sylvanas make sense. It’s a losing battle.
You can say that certain events are canonical, which is true; but there’s no way to have them all done by a consistent character. Because she isn’t a consistent character. Even within BfA, she’s not consistent across various media—see, for example, “Warbringers” vs A Good War vs the BfA intro quests for her goals in the War of Thorns. Then expand that problem across multiple expansions, and it increases exponentially.
The only way you can argue for any one version of Sylvanas is to disregard all the times she is shown to be someone else entirely. Too many writers, too many visions.

Sylvanas was a victim of a writer who had the intention of ruining her. That is why we can consider BFA as non canon since the story lead narrator was not honest and had bad intentions.
Sylvanas had never cared about the forsaken as anything more than her shield against the infinite: to die so that she wouldn’t.
Only blue alliance ranger general sylvanas seems to care about them as a people, which strikes my funny bone.

Chronicles 4 says its canon. Its more like that battle happened earlier then the one the player participated in.
He’s talking about the For the Horde Sylvanas in the trailer. Everything she did was for the Jailer, not the horde.

It is canon. Chronicles 4(iirc i will have to check) does talk about Sylvanas destroying a seige engine. Also it talks about how Saurfang could have kiled Anduin but didnt.
Also, one can yell “for the Horde” and not mean it.

Erevien said the trailer was canon. Dread says it isnt. The official lore is that trailer was canon. Like it or not that is Blizzard prespective and one can simply reconcile it with Sylvanas lying when she yelled “for the Horde”.

The specific version of Sylvanas existed. She was just a manipulative user of the Horde. And will yell “for the Horde” so her sheep couls follow her to their doom.
