Will Patch 8.1 XP % Per Level Satisfy Everyone?

There is no need for everything to be fast. Take what they give you and stop with this headache about going fast. I mean look what happens with the gotta go fast community in Timewalking dungeons. They go splat.

This is a great analogy. It is a lot like riding i-15. Leveling should be able to be done in any zone outside of the last two expansions. So if you want to level in WoTLK from 1-110 go for it.

So when 8.1 goes live will that mean my lower lvl warlock will get lvls or just a reduced amount to the next lvl?. He is lvl 86 so could he in theory be in the 90’s when I log into him or is it just forward on?

Forward on

It will encourage me to level alts, but knowing discourages me from leveling alts right now.

You’ll log on at the same level, and your XP to level will be the same.

For example, if you had 500/2000, and they decreased it to needing 1000, you’d log on with 500/1000.

If you had 1500/2000 and you logged on, you’d be at 999/1000.

The time it takes is effectively a worthless slider, the issue is that it is not any fun.
They seem to have no highs and lows, They do not have much where you get to be powerful and mow down down enemy. And they Rarely if ever have an encounter that pushes you even more than passed easy mode, dungeons themselves are not much better.

They need to ask how long players should be leveling, and what value it has to players and to them to keep them doing it.
They have more than enough zones to vary it up, little marker that says this zone is tough. But some extra XP on everything.
And would be nice if they made it fun tough, with varied attacks and ability. And groups of mobs that are lay out a bit better for creative encounters.
Or encounters with combos of some kind, something to give players some creativity as they level up would go a long way.

I’ve canceled both of my accounts; One shows expired with “Veteran” beside the account name and this one I use to post with Expires: 3/13/2019 3:06 AM due to using up all my gold and buying tokens.

I have lost my trust with Blizzard after this BFA preorder months ago I did just to find out that it was a half baked xpac; Time Gating; Azurite Grindfest.

But mostly due to the changes they slid in with the 7.3.5 patch that I didn’t discover until my purchase of BFA and began to level a Void Elf Warlock stopping at level 87 due to the slog I felt leveling and then came to the forums and found out about what Blizzard claimed was a “BUG” in the massive thread entitled “XP FROM DUNGEONS”; It was at that point when I lost my trust.

Will my trust be restored? Only if they realize that the feedback in that massive thread needs to be reverted; I mean come on how long have players been power leveling, 13 years and they suddenly say; Oh we have to stop this from going on any more……… Give me a break.

Multiboxing however is ok though because they pay for multiple accounts.

I also had the other account so that I could level toons myself and get them leveled and geared but I guess that wasn’t enough accounts for Blizzard’s liking.

I am happy with leveling as it is , in fact it seems to fast

I have no doubt that a lot of people rolled allied race characters and then abandoned them rather than level them up and play them. Over and over again I heard people say that they stopped leveling their characters after all the work they had put in, and some of them said they had unsubbed as well.

How long do you think it should take to level up a new character to play the game? How many months should a new player play their first character before reaching end game? And why should they put up with that?

I’d still like to see nerfs to dungeon trash in older dungeons. they’re a bit too punishing now and aren’t worth the xp. the xp reductions are looking good though.

Of course not. Have you ever been on the forums before?

Seems like it will be about 10% back towards pre leveling nerf.

No I won’t be satisfied.

I want every leveling nerf removed back to before the leveling nerf.

RAF
runs with max level characthers
Leveling in instances
Quests
Heirloom power and speed of leveling
Scaling should DIAF

But they will do what they want. When people have their income cut as drastically as the devs seem to have had from internet scuttlebutt I can’t really be to upset that they don’t much care anymore.

I don’t work for free or below avg pay, and I don’t ask others to do so either.

The option is…don’t equip any gear, just like it has been for years…

It’s a tough one, depends on how 60-80 is. I personally don’t think the experience cut will do much difference. It’ll still be very boring, since mobs still have 3 times more health than they did before 7.3.5.

So what, you liked two-shotting mobs?

I leveled a Paladin up to 78 right before 7.3.5 hit. I twas boring, boring boring. Two hits, and everything died. Sometimes I even one-shot things with Judgment crits. After the patch, it took me 4 GCDs to kill things, hey at least that’s a full rotation.

But 40% less needed for a levelup? You will level up quite a bit faster, even if each individual battle takes a whole rotation.

I think returning dungeon leveling to its former glory would be better than the XP nerf, but the XP nerf is a start.

A level squish also sounds like a good plan. Though it might feel weird at first, I think WoW is pretty much on new territory for MMOs. While there are other games that have existed at the status quo for longer, none have seen as much change or as many expansions as WoW has.

Yes, actually. When I can wear full heirlooms and two shot a random spider who decides to step up, it feels like I’m being rewarded for actually putting some effort into gearing my alts. Having a five minute fight feels like a huge hassle, especially if all I’m getting is some gooey spider fluid that vendors for a copper.

If you actually polled people who make alts, I think you would find that most of them don’t make alts for the leveling experience. Leveling is basically an extension of the character creation screen. People want to hit max level and do max level things on a different class, not be stuck in Duskwood for 11 and a half years.

4 GCDs after 7.3.5 for my character at Level 78 without heirlooms. Unless a GCD is 60 seconds, I’d have to say you’re exaggerating.

Doesn’t really matter what you get out of them really.

Yes, well, I know plenty of people who said that pre-7.3.5 leveling was just boring because it was all one or two-shot.

Even after 7.3.5 Duskwood does not take that long, lol. Unless of course you absolutely suck at playing your character, that is. If you have heirlooms, kill speed went from about 3 seconds per enemy up to about 10 or so seconds per enemy. Still faster than 110+.
