Has it worked for any game they buy? People bring up minecraft but if you play minecraft, you know how bad MS has managed it. I don’t think MS will be good for WoW at all. I’d expect WoW to have a battlepass added to the travelers log if MS buys.
Maybe.
Xbox tends to be a LOT more “hands-off” with their acquisitions and Studios than you would expect. They kinda just let them run their own shows, for the most part. Look at Bethesda for example. MS doesn’t dictate anything to them, really.
Xbox is the brand of Microsoft’s Gaming Division as a whole, not just consoles but PC also at this point, just to be clear.
It’s all considered “Xbox” and Phil Spencer runs it, overall, big picture. But Phil tends to let the studios run themselves and only steps in to put out fires, AFAIK.
So it really depends on who in Blizzard’s upper management that MS decides to retain and how hands-on they will be with WoW.
If anything, MS might just be a little TOO “hands-off” which would explain its lack of Major AAA First-Party production/releases in the past couple of years.
People that quit after convincing themselves the game is no longer worth the sub. Game Pass is very much worth the price, so adding WoW to it would sweeten the deal. Also, adding it to GP as a streaming option would allow players to play on their android/ios mobile devices and xbox console.
As for the people that can’t afford it, they might be more likely to find a way if that $14.99 a month suddenly offered a lot more bang for their buck.
Yes, because the current CEO is…
remains silent out of respect that we’re not allowed to say anything bad about Blizzard employees here
Housing is a lost cause.
It’s nested no true Scotsman fallacy. Gatrions “were not housing” because x, and it will continue to never be housing until Minecraft gets ported in, and even then, it WoNt ReALlY bE HoUsINg
Likewise the idea of hiusj g is massively dev intensive with no real payoff. A tiny tiny tiny tiny tiny tiny tiny percentage of the player base will care. Most won’t. Nobody wants to go to your game house. How many times in GTA online, on average, did you go to someone’s house, or garage, etc.
I think guild halls could be cool, similar to how Warframe does it, but overall it’s so much dev time only to please tiny percentages of the player base with insane ongoing costs and half the people you are trying to please are just going to complain it’s not good enough no matter what you give them (see; void elves)
It’s not happening, so why are you dwelling on it?
Did it improve minecraft or just steer people to microtransactions instead of free mods?
Wait I thought Sony was whinging and the british government told Microsoft they couldn’t?
So is it or isn’t it happening?
Blizzard will get rare treatment… Are some of you really this naive?
Honestly Mircosoft will have to take time to evaluate how its going and where they can improve, change, fix things. The biggest thing is activisions money grab policy will not be in effect so it could turn out better or worse as we don’t know how mircosoft will go with the newly gained IP’s.
only the UK has said no and there’s a major conflict of interest so Mircosoft could flat tell UK to either agree or get left out.
With the US saying yes its pretty much going to happen. it will just depend on how UK goes about being about it will determine the way it ahppens.
Historically Microsoft has been pretty hands off the development of studios they’ve acquired, with the exception that they do not hesitate to cancel projects if they don’t think they’re profitable… so at best it’s more of the same, at worst it’s the end of WoW…
Do with that information what you will lol
I see it as a win no matter what. If outcomes were placed on a relative scale of 10 being… everything bad is fixed and it’s a perfect world. Yay. 1 would be something like…. You have to pay $9.99 to level past a certain point, patches cost $9.99 and the game is even more glitchy and buggy.
So anywhere near 10, it’s become better and I play and have fun. Anywhere near a 1, I stop playing and don’t look back. Anywhere in the mid range, it’s no major change, and I play to have fun.
So as far as I’m concerned, wait what was the topic again?
Edit: oh right, will it improve wow? No clue, but I’m interested in seeing what/if anything happens.
To play wow all players must now have windows OS only and it must be kept updated!
Something like that.
There are many, many different directions this can go for WOW, not all are doom & gloom. I sure MS will do what the bean counters project as the most profitable. Yes, we wait & see.
stopped reading there
Yeah but it turns out nobody, even the British government, takes what the British government says seriously any more.
As oppose to what we have already?
So wait a minute, Sony is trying to acquire CDProjektRed (from what I’m told) but yet they had a tizzy when Microsoft tried to acquire Activision/Blizzard?
They are not:
The CMA said no not the UK as a whole not even the UK Government as a whole said no just the CMA.
The CMA could easily lose the appeals. The Prime Minister himself is not happy with the CMA’s decision I should mention.
If enough higher ups get angry enough they can disband the CMA outright! If the Staff of the CMA act as if they are above being disbanded they will be arrested for Contempt of Parliament! The CMA judging from one of the previous times they lost their appeal flew into a rage at their superiors for daring to stifle their laws so they are sore losers(I.E. Narcissists) and if forced to be disbanded will go down fighting and thus be arrested for Contempt of Parliament.
