Okay good, I was gonna say XD
If it got put onto Gamepass, I wonder if those who started playing it there would be separated from general subscribers. I know that, for example, people who play ESO on console do not interact at all with those who play through the PCs. Its a completely separate game in effect.
I believe Activision/Blizzard have an business agreement with Sony hence the lawsuits.
But, but… they can quiet quit and change their hair to the color of the rainbow… I mean the real important stuff, ya know?
I doubt much is going to change unless they gut the game.
Let’s put it this way; With MS there is a chance of improvement. If the current leadership remains, then we have zero chance of improvement.
I’ll take the dice roll over a 0% chance any day of the week.
They need to get rid of redundant positions 5 people doing the same thing…is not effective…when this goes thru…I bet there going to do a total realignment…
Me. I would do this. Instead of paying $60 for games and then tack on subscriptions I would rather role the subscription fee in with gamepass. For $10 - $15 a month it’s a bargain. I hope they put all the Blizzard games on Gamepass.
I was truly hoping it would,
And then I saw the full feedback on Zaralek Caverns being ignored, specifically the changes they did and not just making the rares soloable.
So here we are… Feedback being ignored per usual. A shame
The only way they can improve wow is to cut the head off the EGO snake and get rid of danuser and ion. People so obsessed with their “vIsIoN” they’ll straight out tell players not to play entire specs or attempt to get rid of wildly popular things like flight.
Most likely though they’ll just let WoW rot on the vine, they only wanted Actiblizz for king games to sell microtransactions to children, they even said as much.
well. Microsoft isn’t EA so we can be thankful that we will not need to microtransaction everything including logging in. The cash shop will be flushed with goodies tho.
current cash shop is kind of boring. Like I go there with money to burn and I’m like… I don’t want any of this crap. It’s like the toy isle at a gas station. Selling dusty bags of green army men from the end of WWII.
I have serious doubts.
I’m sure it’ll go from ‘’ woke ', to even more ’ woke '.
Yes, they will drastically improve their revenue, trust me!
Its a crap shoot.
Might, might not. From what we have been told, Blizzard, while under the MS umbrella, blizzard will remain largely autonomous, IE able to do its own thing so long as they are above water. Now how true that is, only is known behind closed doors, though in my experiences, in situations like this, it just means they are on a longer leash then normal.
However, MS has a massive thing for Software as a service, which will include wow, which means you could see it come onto the game pass which can be both a good thing and a bad thing.
Bad thing being it opens it up to the idea of a battle pass IE Software as a service, and cloak the adding of it under the fact of “well its part of game pass so you pay for that and you get all these other games so your not relaly paying for a wow sub anymore and thats why battle passes are in.”
There is no way to really tell, but in my opinion, its gonna be hard to get worse.
Im on the fence here. Microsoft had to sell several rights off to Ubisoft in order to get through anti-trust laws in Europe and USA. I believe ALL of the cloud streaming and a few others. They are going to lose revenue on CoD because of an existing 10 year deal with Playstation. PC Cloud streaming rights are locked in a 15 year NVidia deal.
The most ominous line from Microsoft is when Phil Spencer said: “We have our own ideas about what games need to look like and to do that we will scrap what needs to be scrapped so we can reallocate the personnel to get that done. If that means losing beloved games, that means losing beloved games.”
Clearly said by someone who still has all 4 grandparents and both parents still. Wait till he loses a beloved one and see how his song changes.
Which is wild because we know for a fact Phil has a thing for RTS and starcraft and wants to bring them back. So im confused as to what they are gonna be cutting.
Tin foil hat, i think its gonna be overwatch but hey thats just like, my opinion, man.
In many/most layoffs, they let the more expensive employees go–pretty much just to save money. Now it’s not fair to say “expensive employees equal great employees.”
Also, some companies will lay people off and then immediately hire them back in a contract/consulting role because they can squish that money into different budgets and still look golden to the investors.
I think they will cut things like Hearthstone and focus on bringing others to console. D4 was an utter failure and is a black stain on Blizzards library. I could see staff reduced there as well.
6 months resurrection spell I see.
I doubt it will change in a positive way.
Lately seems like corporations are hell bent on bastardizing franchises or making games unfun for lols.
