And none of the times we have worked together in the past meant that we melded into one faction. It should never be a thing.

Every time I hear someone pitch this I cringe so hard I nearly pull a muscle.
Every time a good chunk of people, myself included, see “WAR in WARcraft” They cringe too. Sooo…we’re even. I am with Luumuu. Get rid of the divide. It’s dumb and serves no purpose but to help gatekeep.
Why play a war game then?
Fun fact, still at war. If you don’t recognize that, that is a you issue. Just not with each other.
We aren’t actively in any war right now. We’ve even defeated the ones attacking Amirdrassil. And it was more of a conflict than a war.
…what is the definition of war? Please tell me. Because last I knew, it was a CONFLICT. Some of you could benefit from looking through a dictionary sometime.
It contains conflict, but is usually more massive like between countries, states, factions. Bigger than let’s go fight these small groups that don’t put up much of a fight and everything gets resolved quickly with the power of family.
war
/wôr/
noun
There you go. I did it for you. Now that I have shown you how little you actually know about the definition of what war is, you no longer get anymore of my time, nor effort. So enjoy the ignore list, and have a fantastic day/night. Whichever. I really couldn’t care less.
I just want to be a gnome and walk into org and make fun of all the vulpera now that the superior cute race is in town.
This wasn’t between nations nor states. It was just a small scuffle. It’s as much of a “war” as the movie version of Marvel’s Civil war was a “war.”
It was two karens fighting in a parking lot.
I told you the exact definition you linked me, lol.
Oh so do I. It’s a terribly weak argument.
But I agree with how they feel. The people who enjoy the faction war were here first and the people who oppose it came later. They feel like they’re being driven out of their game by a vocal minority of newcomers. Which is absolutely the case.
Dayum yung wipper snappers.
They didn’t write the story of the game btw thats on Blizzard.
Made me think of this song haha
It seems it’s on that direction which is a shame because that’s kind of wows identity for most it’s lifespan.
Factions will likely always be around in terms of culture and the way NPCs look at each other. But from a player PoV it feels like we’re about where heroes like Jaina, Thrall, Khadgar, etc… are.
Compared to the stuff we’re doing, faction-based conflicts feel petty and should be more of a RP-based character choice and not a restriction, which is where they seem to be going.
Only when Blood Elves and Forsaken are extinct will factions end.
AQ war effort says, “hello”.
Alliance and Horde have been cooperating together since 2005, this is nothing new.
BfA just finally showed everyone that “Horde vs Alliance” is boring and gets old quickly.
Settle down, Hot Topic Blood Elf.
They’re finally fading out the outdated and tired old trope of “factions”?
Oh no! Anyway…
“It’s better to burn out than fade away,” -Teldrassil
Then get ready to twitch in agony my guy because the appetite for Open Faction Warfare is at an all time rock bottom.
Blizzard could have went the slow burn route but with how rapidly they escalated and the sloppy work they did to get there means that no one will trust them with it ever again.
The Entire Faction conflict was a marketing beat and it has been a giant Bugbear that Blizzard has never been able to crack. It’s led from everything to Player disatisfaction (As A Horde Player since TBC I’ve hated any Horde Story since Cataclysm) and it bled over into real life when we had Performers at Blizzcon openly antagonizing players of another faction.
It was a hot bloody mess. It still Is a Hot Bloody mess. It will never stop being a hot Bloody Mess.
So if you can’t have the open warfare but still want the faction Sports Teams mentality, having the H and A getting into jolly bouts of Warcraft Olympics is gonna be the closest you can get to a compromise without falling into bad habits
