Out of curiosity, Does Blizzard ever plan to open Elite PVP sets to players who did not have 2000+ rating during those seasons? I would love to get the two legion ones but unfortunately I did not play enough through out the legion expansion to unlock them.
Would even be okay if they were to charge say 50 marks instead of the 12 the normal sets cost.
They never will. Nor should they. Also most of the elite PvP sets have a recolor so you have other options.
Point is no. Though if you get 1800 in RBG’s you do unlock Classic’s Rank 14 gear and armor transmog to buy from Area 52 for that character (should be account wide though so my alts can buy their transmog sets instead of re-grinding 1800 on them).
No because they aren’t exclusive anymore. I love wearing my legion season 4 elite set because it can’t be obtained anymore and that makes me love it even more.
Still waiting to be able to repurchase my old 2200 recolors from much older seasons. Had I known about xmog at the time I wouldn’t of sold them for gold and bank space. But it wasn’t gonna be a thing for years =(
I dunno if I’d go that far. We all pay for this game and it’s alright to have some exclusives. But if you overdo it then at a certain point you’re just wasting other players sub money on art time that won’t matter in a couple of years.
I’m deeply against the removal of gear in this game because it was a complete waste of time to make it when 5 years down the road less than 1% of the players have it and half of those aren’t even around anymore.
I always want more options to make my character more unique if I choose, not less.
Imo
I seriously wish they’d take a stance on this. I had a peaceful realm on my other main before we got merged with 2 other realms. Now it’s all day long carries for keys and nzoth. Literally can’t read general or trade chat because there are so many of them fighting each other that they just spam constantly.
I am extremely against carries and I wish they were honestly against the rules as it completely screws with the progression of others when you pug into people who simply don’t know what they’re doing or even belong there and murder your keys.
It really is tragic because they will never do anything about it. Between the dino mount and all these people selling carries, Blizzard must be swimming in pools of money from the token sells.
My problem is that the concept of “prestige” doesn’t really work until WoW fixes it’s stance on game integrity/boosts. It just doesn’t matter. You can just get anything you want if you throw enough money at it.
Ouch. Maybe put in a ticket and see if they could do something about that.
I am curious though what are your thoughts on the Classic Rank 14 weapons and armor the unlock from the vendor being account wide? I hate regrinding 1800 in RBG’s on other classes to get the class armor set etc.
I wish you could buy old sets if you had the proper CR. There’s really no reason not too other than people QQ’ing. It’s kind of stupid considering you can get old raid appearances for sets you didn’t “earn” in content but here we are.
Honestly they should considering Mythic sets from raids are not just a seasonal reward. As long as PVE content can be farmed without restriction so too should the PvP rewards. Now do not misunderstand. You should have to acquire said rating at some point to get access to the sets but once you do you should have access to that season’s elite set and all earlier sets.
PvP Elite cosmetics have always been locked to season-specific rewards, similar to the Gladiator mounts as a means to say you did well during X PvP season.
Mythic transmogs are a matter of saying, “I did a thing.” If it is the current raid, it is impressive. If it is not the most current raid, it isn’t as much so.
I do not consider the elite sets the same as the Gladiator mounts because of the sheer number of people that get them compared to the mount. One is prestigious while the other is not hard to get if you commit to it. Anyone can get to 2k rating IF they focus on that. Obviously the really skilled players can do that without focusing on it. The mount is simply for the best of the best though and I know when I see one of those that guy/girl really worked for that. The transmogs not so much.
2k involves a bit of time investment, and skill. Higher the skill, less time investment required, obviously and the elite sets are effectively participation trophies for their seasons.
Raids don’t disappear, but PvP seasons do. As much as I really would have liked to get the Warlords elite PvP sets, I don’t think I should be entitled to have them because I didn’t PvP that much during Warlords, except to mess around on my alt Unholy DK.
I mean, I’d be alright with it. I got it for a hunter, paladin and my rogue had it unlocked from the start for being above the required vanilla ranking. My monk has it too, but it’s completely pointless since they don’t have a set.
I personally don’t see a reason not to unlock it account wide. It’s a faction pride set and for the most part they’re all good looking. Not like it’s hard to get anyways.
Which makes it even more prestigious? That’s a good thing. Making it easy to obtain later just devalues it.
And if you continue to play the game they will continue to give more and more options. Those that have been playing longer. If not all that time you paid and played gets devalued and “wasted money”.
Agreed, they should make mythic appearances only obtainable during the raid period they’re in. Getting ce is a feat. Having some dude come along and trivialize it one expansion later isn’t cool.
