So I was wondering if Classic would have the expansions added as time went on? I was only 8 when wow first came out and by the time I was allowed to get my own account the game was already in mists of pandaria so I never got to actually experience the progression like my parents did and classic might be a way for me to do that.
To me classic means the game’s basic mechanics such as class training, PVP , keeping the voice actors/actresses used in warcraft 3 and everything else that was a part of the first 3 expansions. I don’t mind the changes done to the landscape in cataclysm as long as wow classic keeps the original mechanics and like I said I never got to experience stuff like the opening of the dark portal or the battle for undercity so adding the expansions to classic while maintaining the original mechanics in my opinion would be a great idea.
Maybe once they get ready to add a expansion to classic they could have us give feedback on what we liked and disliked as far as minor changes for each expansion and then use that feedback.
As the above poster said, if Classic is a smash hit redeux I don’t see why they wouldn’t consider it. Potentially millions of customers want to play BC.
Just about all the classic wow fans would play a TBC server at least a bit. And like 80% of the people crying about classic class balance would line up to play TBC as it got better there, so yeah… Im betting on it.
Q: Classic - are we staying on this patch forever or will it get an expansion?
A: Right now we’re trying to restore 2006. Once the game is out there next summer we’ll listen to the players and do what’s right for the game but we’ll have to see.
I think BC and WotLK would be great down the line provided they’re separate from vanilla servers. If they force my t3 geared level 60 into obsoletion I’d be very unhappy.
If successful, I would prefer they just kept it at 60 and developed new content.
Considering how contentious the issue is, I would expect even just adding BC would cause a huge uproar, let alone anything past that. it would hardly be Classic if kept adding expansions.
The whole point of this is to differentiate between retail, not to turn it into retail…
In my opinion, I think it should stay as “classic” wow. On another game called runescape they did a similar thing and most people here might know about it. Very different games I know but the idea that I think is great is keeping it as a classic feel but instead of adding already existing expansions they could add different content all together. Keeping cap at 60 but maybe adding new zones, raids and dungeons. Obviously this is what an expansion is for, but especially tailored for classic wow. Though if it was decided to add the already existing expansions I wouldn’t be upset, aslong as I wouldn’t have to repurchase them again
I think expansion would be fine, just keep out all the things that dumbed the game down, that made it so easy, keep out “well everyone paid the same so everyone should get to see all the content” make people EARN the right to see that content
