Will Cataclysm be Dead on Arrival?

i am looking so forward to cata, i never played that version and i want to see why everyone says its the fall of wow.

Personally it sounds awesome being able to fly over all the lands is a HUGE giant thing i am looking forward to doing, i HATE walking

You’re being sarcastic, right? Please tell me you’re being sarcastic. Cataclysm is almost unanimously hated among the WoW community as the beginning of the end of the good days. The only people who unironically think Cataclysm was good were the people who didn’t start playing until Cataclysm. For those of us who experienced the previous 3 best versions of the game, Cataclysm was literally a cataclysm; the beginning of the end.

He was talking about MoP, not Cata.

And yes, MoP is one of the best expansions ever made. Still is my #1 favorite expansion to this day.

I started near the release date of vanilla and I think vanilla was the worst version of wow until WoD. Both Cata and MoP were better. And cata wasn’t unanimously hated. It only lost 20% of subs so 80% liked it enough to pay $15 every month for 2 years.

I highly doubt Cata is bad enough to make me not want to play…I think it’s sad that all of the previous content is gone and I can imagine that at least half of that 20% is people who just started WoW not willing to adapt to all the recent changes from the previous versions.

Wrath is clearly my most favorite expac but the guild my toon is in on Grobbulus will move to Cata and we will continue the fight against the other guys

I started in Wrath and I like Cata. Its only weak point is Dragon Soul, which is a sentiment echoed by most people who actually remember the expansion, as Yehmi says

The only people who think Cata was the beginning of the end are Vanilla purists who think being inconvenienced as much as possible is the peak of entertainment, and people who let the (lack of) quality in Dragon Soul + it lasting for over a year taint their memory of the entire expansion

But with SoD, Grobbulus is getting empty as the other servers

It has slowed down with the PVE crowd for sure, alot have achieved their goals and moved to SOD perhaps but there is still a ton going on Wpvp wise
