Will Blizzard turn Retail WoW in the direction of being an MMORPG again?

Way to move the goalposts.

What’s your issue with them anyhow? They’re there so you can learn the dungeon and experience the story. At the levels where the dungeons and raids matter, you need to group up and communicate.

I don’t know why classic-pushers fail to recognize this. My running theory is that they just can’t handle normal raids.

It already is:

Massively

Multiplayer

Online

Roleplaying

Game.

Yep, does all of those.

So now you attack me because I disagree with you because I view LFD as one of the worst things to happen to this game? Classic or not, I hated it when it was added in Wrath (which I had a lot more fun with than classic, since you are implying I am on some classic pushing campaign, maybe if it were Wrath servers) and I hate it to this day.

Let see.

What do RPGs do?

First. We have levels. Most old and digital ones have these.
Do they have stats? Well all of them do don’t they?
What about abilities. Yep. WoW has them, every other game out there does. (Though WoW certainly knows how to make one forget you get them after like 80 or so)
We have gear. Dungeons. Exploring. Um. Quests. Even the oldest JRPG has these. Oh ya. XP. WoW has it. Sure Questing is the best way to get it rather than mindless grinding away on monsters for hours at a time.
WoW and some other games have some form of crafting. (DnD wasn’t very good with it imo… but what would I know… Oo) So we can cook, fish, sew, mix potions… gee… I keep finding a lot of things that makes WoW an RPG.

Now. Does removing the reagents that made spells inconvenient half the time make the game not an RPG? Or perhaps you need to shout for hours at the top of your lungs in a zone of city to gather a group? Does that make it an RPG?

Or maybe, those add a little flavor and while it takes a bit from the RPG thing, it doesn’t eliminate it.

Personally… I do want our leveling system a little spruced up, give us some abilities, spread out over 120… or 60 levels (Whatever they have us end up with in 9.0) But I don’t think WoW has lost the RPG in its MMORPG side of things.

God forbid grouping be encouraged in an MMO…

WoW is an RPG in the way Super Noah’s Ark 3D is a FPS. Yes technically it is, but it hardly resembles one, nor does it feel like one.

Oh no! People can group with people from across the realm to do content with? Jesus christ how horrifying!

It’s been in the game longer than it hasn’t been. It doesn’t bother me because I don’t use it, and I like it because I work odd hours and I can always find a group for M+ or Raids. It also gives other players a chance to experience the instances and stories that Blizzard has made.

What’s your problem with that? Don’t feel exclusive enough?

Well I for one am not going to get into an arguement.

I think WoW retains its RPGness. You don’t.

Between the two of us, it’s not a fact that it’s not or is an RPG. Because as you said… It doesn’t ‘feel’ like one to you.

(knows nothing of this super noah’s ark… and wonders if someone was being snarky in an attempt to show that wow isn’t an RPG anymore. Might I be too old for that? Who knows.)

I had to bloody look up Noah’s ARK 3D. My brain kinda just stoped at what seems to be a DOOM game designed for kids.

It’s not multiplayer, it’s not massive, it’s not role playing, it’s hardly a game. It is online though I guess.

Not only are you a toxic person, and trying to bypass the forum filter. You committed the grave sin of not using the enter key.

Burden of proof is on the accuser.

Never been one shotted by an Elite I take it…

Looks more interesting than BFA…

Meh, just wanted to rant bruh. How am I toxic? I just miss seeing funny stuff and communicating with people during group content.

No it is not, because raids and hight content is for people who struggled for be there, its not supposed anyone can be there, that is what do raids epic.

Reread your post and come back to me. I’m still sure you’re a troll however.

Grammar people. Grammar.

I’m going to assume that you’re against LFR, in which case. Why? It was literally added so people could see the story of the raid. The loot is garbage, so people don’t run it often, aside from getting an alt to 400, before going higher.

Do you seriously think people queue up for random heroics and LFR beyond gearing themselves, or a garden variety casual enjoying the story while doing other things they like?

LFR and LFD literally does not impact you in any negative way. All the beasts are in your head.

Well sorry for my bad english. it’s not my first language.

Why? because lfr is trash, in a mmorpg if you want to live the experience and history of high content you work hard to do it, you don’t wait to be served.

Thankfully Blizzard disagrees with your gatekeeping. Sorry you don’t get to feel better for clearing a raid in WoW. Better is the wrong word. Exclusive is more the sort isn’t it?

Noone looks at an LFR clear and thinks highly of it. AOTC on the other hand? :+1:
