Just got a email that my pw was reset and to follow a link.
Just changed my email/pw cuz I don’t know how that happened.
It’s possible my cat kept putting in wrong passwords because the battle net app pops up.
Is there an automatic feature that happens when too many attempts are made , which resets pw?
It might have if you had the authenticator app, and did not migrate yet to the Battle.net authenticator.
There is also a security system that tracks location that might lock your account until you change the password. I am not sure if incorrect passwords would trigger it though. Part of this was removing the invalid auth app, and issuing a password reset.

No. We do have a security feature that may temporarily lock an account, which is unlocked with an SMS Code or by you resetting your password, but it doesn’t reset your password automatically.

Very good idea. Make sure that was done from a PC you know is clean. Your email should have Secondary Authentication on it as well - something like Gmail has that option. If you don’t have the Blizzard Authenticator on the account already, you will want to set that up.
Blizzard never sends you a password changed message out of the blue - they don’t reset it without YOU doing it. They only lock the account for security reasons then you do the reset.
