Why WoW should be rated M

Vanilla explored very mature themes. Some of wich were in the game, but others that were known only in the books. Still, we’re talking some very hardcore stuff. Over the years the game has been losing it’s maturity. I’ll just point at the virtual ticket rewards for an example. They’re completely immersion breaking. I do not feel like I’m about to fight an old god when everyone is wearing yeti outfits.

Now the game has always had a degree of goofyness, wich is fine…
But the game shouldn’t feel CORNY <-------

Now let’s just picture WoW rated M. The blood! The brutality! The succubi!
It’s a game about demons, dragons, and old gods, right?

I feel the current rating just hinders the story telling.

The current rating didn’t stop attempted genocide so I’m fine with it

The rating doesn’t stop them, but it does make things needlessly corny.

Even if WoW was M rated, it would still have goofy things like the Blizzcon onesie. Having an M rating would just limit their markets.

You’ll find your gallon of blood in the Old World of Warhammer.

Here you will find nothing more than a theme park stuck perpetually in a limbo of eternal war where neither side makes any significant gains and anything that makes either faction strong or powerful is either marginalized or stripped away entirely at the whims of narrow sighted devs and writers at Blizz behest.

Take WoW’s idea of “horror”
It went from macabre to just… “This dungeon has spoopy witches”

try leveling through drustvar and actually read quests.

Isn’t that blizzards thing?

I remember a warcraft 2 load screep tip: Never piss into the wind.

This game is corny and predictable, you can almost mouth what characters are going to say in cinematics before they say it. It’s very cliche.

However, the best of the story is what you view through quest dialogue and text, IMO.

attempted?

On topic: The story is already distasteful enough, we don’t need a detailed onscreen view of horde soldiers cleaving innocents in half and eating/burning babies, because that’s what the next step would be with the current writers.

You didn’t all die, did you? Night elf race wasn’t locked for me after the Christmas Tree Lighting…

yup the player character is still alive

Which means it was an attempted genocide, not a genocide.
