I went back and did the Chromie time walking campaigns to level some toons and it became SO APPARENT to me why I am not enjoying expansions anymore. Past expansions were heavily horde and alliance central; meaning each had their own story line and interacted mainly only with their own faction.
This new, lazy approach to game design where everyone is one big happy family with all the horde and alliance leaders handing out quests to everyone is just lame.
Iâm glad we moved past the same old contrived conflict that got old long ago. It was like watching Ross and Racheal get together and break up for twenty years.
Thatâs honestly only a single part of the hundred reasons modern WoW feels like a theme park. Also, what Horde leaders? Thrall left about 10sec into this expansion. Itâs been 100% Alliance from my perspective. We could have Garr⌠oh. Well, we could have Nazgr⌠oh. Well, we could have Volâj⌠oh. Well, we could have Sylv⌠oh right. Well we could have Cair⌠oh, right right. Well surely Saurf⌠oh.
No they werenât, and even if they were, how would you know? Were you reading the quest text? Because many of them had basically zero cut scenes outside of raids. âStorylinesâ were basically non existent in old expansions.
The Horde have destroyed enough alliance cities over the years, man. We lose cities like you guys lose leaders, except the Alliance is never responsible for killing your leaders and the Horde is always responsible for destroying our cities.
Except Dalaran, but this is like the third time itâs been destroyed.
