Why WoW Isn't Fun for Me Anymore

I went back and did the Chromie time walking campaigns to level some toons and it became SO APPARENT to me why I am not enjoying expansions anymore. Past expansions were heavily horde and alliance central; meaning each had their own story line and interacted mainly only with their own faction.

This new, lazy approach to game design where everyone is one big happy family with all the horde and alliance leaders handing out quests to everyone is just lame.

Here here i hate the kumbaya too. It was better when it was all about horde vs alliance but what can you do other than quit. Im not there…yet.

I have to imagine some ‘influencer’ did some ‘influencing.’

So you can only like a game if humans and orcs are mad at each other? I gotta be honest. That sounds like an incredibly silly and disingenuous reason.

Pretty sure WoW Classic still accepts players.

I’m glad we moved past the same old contrived conflict that got old long ago. It was like watching Ross and Racheal get together and break up for twenty years.

That’s honestly only a single part of the hundred reasons modern WoW feels like a theme park. Also, what Horde leaders? Thrall left about 10sec into this expansion. It’s been 100% Alliance from my perspective. We could have Garr… oh. Well, we could have Nazgr… oh. Well, we could have Vol’j… oh. Well, we could have Sylv… oh right. Well we could have Cair… oh, right right. Well surely Saurf… oh.

Yeah, those uhh Horde leaders.

WoW has always been a theme park.

Who planted this idea in peoples’ heads that it was ever a sandbox MMO?

Have you ever played a sandbox MMO? SWG’s gameplay was virtually unrecognizable by comparison.

it adds depth.

if all we have is the shallow challenge ahead, it’s not as exciting.

Now, if the horde were secretly conspiring with Xal’atath, THAT would be quality story.

No they weren’t, and even if they were, how would you know? Were you reading the quest text? Because many of them had basically zero cut scenes outside of raids. “Storylines” were basically non existent in old expansions.

Thats what this game was built on.

No it wouldn’t. That would just be Sylvanas and the Jailer again, and that was terrible.

Exactly.

If the Horde blew up Dalaran…now that would’ve been cool.

That would just be Warcraft II again.

Might not be a bad idea.

This new era is very, very boring.

The Horde have destroyed enough alliance cities over the years, man. We lose cities like you guys lose leaders, except the Alliance is never responsible for killing your leaders and the Horde is always responsible for destroying our cities.

Except Dalaran, but this is like the third time it’s been destroyed.

Nah it was built on playing a corpse and poisoning pumpkins to give to religious zealots

Horde players complaining about no war in warcraft are the new Alliance players asking for high elves.

Who the hell said anything about that?

Oh right. Just you.
