It’s simple really: the devs don’t want to engage with people who will be combative. If someone is combative in their rhetoric it means they care too much, to the point where it’s unhealthy. A lot of people are obsessed with this game and it shows.

Not to mention people jumping in to say “Hey, what about this other problem?” regardless of what a thread’s topic is.

They don’t want to admit they were wrong (As usual).

Blizzard never owns mistakes, they are, as far as I can tell, physically incapable of actually admitting they were wrong, and fixing an issue in any form of timely manner. THey will wait YEARS and let their player base dwindle with their poor decisions before deciding to admit “Maybe that wasn’t the right direction.” but never admit that they were dead wrong -again- and generally do way too little too late to actually fix the issue.

Why respond?

Players aren’t very smart and can’t have logical conversations. They read words that aren’t said and include personal bias in the sentences they read.

Pretty much all of this.

There is little reason to engage with an angry mob because they will be abusive, aggressive, and often rude until they get what they want. The majority of they can’t even express themselves or have discussion without calling the posters on the other side of he argument trolls and other various slurs/derogatory comments.

Blizzard has cut virtually all communication. While it was absolutely appreciated, they didn’t like some of the reactions they got, and they didn’t like the transparency as players knowing their thought process was a good way for players to realize the devs have some terrible ideas. They also don’t care about the interests of the playerbase for the most part, as evidenced by terrible decisions, horrendous design, and arrogance of the company by going out of beta/PTR ignoring all feedback and continuing to design terrible things.

At least potentially Dragonflight is a return to some semblance of designed for the playerbase.

Blizz doesn’t respond to forum posters because we represent the smallest portion of their paying customers. Ever wonder why there’s dozens of threads asking who actually gets surveys after they come out? I know it sucks but we aren’t the target demographic. Just the fan club.
