Why won't devs comment?

So on twitter we see Brian Birmingham replying to all these comments and getting into conversations that support his opinions but as soon as people start to speak about their concerns with the direction of the game he mutes the thread and says this is not the platform to use for that, take it to the forums… But he will not make a dedicated area to speak about what the community actually wants, we just have to go between 2 classic forums and post about it without any comments or feedback from him. Twitter gets to be constantly used for his praise and ideas and supporters of such while the opposition is muted and kicked out to not be heard… This is terrible representation for Blizzard as a company.

Because gamers can’t be trusted to be respectful

So “agree with me or shut up” is respectful?

Bu bu but. He thinks adding extra loot drops in low level dungeons may be a good idea on how to fix leveling dungeons. Clown show

At the VERY LEAST they need to at least have Dungeon Finder for vanilla / TBC maps - these dungeons will continue to only be used for boosting / gold farming website uses. And only select dungeons like RFC, SFK, SM, Mara, Strath for vanilla then SP and SL for TBC that is it, the only dungeons people will “run” I use the word run loosely because they will all sit AFK at the entrance while paying gold to a farmer who is going to illegally sell it on his website.

Brian is too busy trying to leave his mark on the game and show he knows what’s best rather than listen to any discussions.

How soon before he starts to mute / delete threads on the forums I wonder so he can control this too? I really wish Blizzard as a company would take a look at him for what he is and the damage he will cause by ignoring the customers.

Corporate cowardice – same reason all these companies use Twitter or Reddit over their own damn websites. The ‘outreach potential’ may be greater on other social media platforms, but these companies have more control over their own websites than social media platforms. ‘OMG TROLLS R MEAN’ just a copout – as if social media isn’t rife with OMG MEAN WORDS ONLINE.

Rito James/League of Legends is no different.

Isn’t this the entire point of twitter though?

Been monitoring the exact same thing, he only interacts with any thing to pat him self on the back, he has replied to a couple of people that have displayed some displeasure towards the decision and his replies are as quoted “I don’t know you  but I’m sad to lose you. I hope you reconsider if we don’t.” …

How is a dev responding to displeased customers like this on a public forum? it’s unprofessional and just sums up his complete and utter disregard for us as a community if it doesn’t fit his personal agenda, i think he needs to remember he is simply a curator to re-release other peoples work, not too sure where the power trip is coming from.

It is upsetting to see the fate of something so great that so many of us remember and have looked forward to for so long, be in the hands of a childish schoolyard bully. “MY BALL! YOU CAN’T PLAY!”

They probably want to assess how big the backlash is before commenting. There’s no reason to jump the gun on their end

Well, because blizzard made a blunder in there perception of the community and unintentionally polarized the community beyond repair. Anything they do at this point will have significant backlash.

The anti-lfd group will feel betrayed if they reverse course.
The Pro-LFD group is all ready pissed off.

It really comes down to the numbers. If blizzard thinks its 40-60, or very close to 50-50, they aren’t’ likely do anything because the result will be mostly the same. Had they simply just put LFD in the game and never said a word about it, things would be going a lot better for them right now.

Looks like OP is new here and not aware that blues dont come here often.

This LFD ‘controversy’ is just another stunning example of thunderstriking incompetence.

IF – IF – the plan was to replace the ‘Classic WoTLK LFG’ functionality with ’DUDEBROS WOULDNT IT BE SO AWESOME IF WE INTRODUCED THE RETAIL LFG TOOL INTO LICH KING CLASSIC INSTEAD’, then Birmingham should have said that from the get-go.

Didn’t he already say they were considering how to implement a modified dungeon finder with no teleport or crossrealm?

I 100% agree devs shouldn’t be using twitter to have discussions about ingame features. I’m anti LFD and don’t even disagree with him on it. But use the official forums if you want to have a discussion about the game.

It’s a dictatorship. Blizzard do what they want regardless of whether the majority of the population disagree.

If true, that should have been mentioned in the tweet immediately following when he stated that the LFD that was introduced during WoTLK would not be included in LKClassic.

If true, thundering incompetence on his part.
If not true, thundering incompetence on his part.

This is where your post went wrong. This is a diverse community with alot of diverse desires.
