The only time I ever saw anyone ride a Feldrake was back when the TCG first introduced it, and even then it was just a couple people hanging around Org showing it off. That stopped happening very quickly, as it really was not a good looking drake and was competing with the at the time new and shiny Cloud Serpents and such.
After that, I had literally never seen anyone use the Feldrake, right up until the Twitch drop, when a couple more people showed it off in Orgrimmar - and then subsequently never ever used it ever again.
Trust me. No one thinks it was ever special, except for maybe a couple of people who liked the idea of pulling it out during a mount off with Asmongold or whatever
I did it by playing at very unhealthy levels. Like⌠Do a BG, go downstairs, smoke a cigarette in Laundry room. Return to check que. Repeat this ritual for DAYS on end with sleep being for the weak and only surrendered to⌠upon the weekly reset.
Some things that you only do only once in life and NEVER again. I played a Warlock then and was in a guild called Knights of the Flag. We were called âKnights of the Flagâ because we were always flagged, unless afk or some RL stuff happened. Out in the game-world we were expected to âalwaysâ be flagged. Bindy, and others can vouch for me. Many happy memories battling Stormfist and Wartorn. Nobunaga, Zayuke, and Roop were the devil.
Frite and Letters (Xyzzyx⌠Aw hell you know⌠THAT GUY!) were a walking Deathsquad.
Salubrius, Hide, Mercer, Starlear, Pantzeri, and Bindy were our secret weapons.
For a little more background, after the GM of Knights of the Flag made Grand Marshal, drama hit because he had what he needed. Eventually his ego wound up destroying the guild. As a result, the majority of us migrated to Alahni lo Andu with Starlear, who was the First Officer of Knights of the Flag.
Many years later my âElfâ Warlock, which had retired when BC hit was reimagined a Demon Hunter, explaining where in the hell she had been for so many years. Still got my Lock actually but I re-raced it because I went Horde from BC to Legion. Lacryma was always a Blood Elf, but I had to settle for playing her as a Human. Silver Hand Server.
I emphasize that, because I donât want people to confuse me with other players using the name Lacryma. After the Knights of the Flag debacle my lousy ex stole has tried to reserve the name on every server she possibly could simply to spite me.
Itâs kinda a trend with her. Someone makes something, does an RP etc. She gets involved and eventually tries to claim credit for it as âher ideaâ. Usually drama ensues soon after. That said, I will say that Classic PVP was a blast.
Being the âturncoatâ sure did put some salt in some of my old comrades wounds. Especially Odina. She used to flip tables when âGrand Marshal Odinaâ was cut down by Lacryma for attacking Quelâthalas (Your own darned fault Odina! Sorry not sorry! :P).
And as for my sanity, Iâll reference Lord Illidan.
âYour insane!!â âIsolation can do that to the mind.â
The ZG tiger should be reintroduced (outside of the BMAH) as a Leatherworking crafting recipe that can only be obtained through a legendary-style questline. The materials to make them would be obtained in a similar fashion and would have to be supplied by the buyer. The mats cost should be very expensive to align closely with BMAH pricing.
(Thatâs something I envision Blizzard going along with, which would be much better than nothing. As a ZG tiger owner, it could be given away for free for all I care).
Iâd just like to get the Blood-tinged Kilt again. After I lost the name Lacryma on Silver Hand from Wrath till Legion expansions (again because of the ex), I started playing Orcs which I tend to do these days. As a consequence my Orc Death Knight has a Blood Tinged Kilt, but I canât use it for transmog.
Yep. Itâs good thing I never did that, and I never will. Blizzard is hands down ruthless in itâs enforcement, as they should be. Itâs cheating and it invalidated the hard work people like me put in to get the ranks legitimately.
For perspective, let me put it like this. How would you guys feel if you were putting in the hours every day, for weeks, or even months; working to rank up your PVP rank solo, and then some guy who was sharing his account but had 2-3 people doing shifts outranked you time and time again?
I reckon youâd feel pretty crappy and more than a little pissed off by it. But then that was the unfortunate side effect of the Classic PVP era. Iâll be honest too. I didnât make Grand Marshal. I simply couldnât. I donât think it was a skill issue though. My problem was that I was just one person doing it, and doing it legitimately.
Still⌠I did make it far enough that I was able to get grandfathered in to being able to buy the Replica Armor, which was a nice consolation prize. Either way I will always consider Classic one of the best times of my life.
