I donāt think it is any more " prestigious" than being lucky enough to have the tiger spawn in the BMAH, and to be lucky enough to be there at the right moment to bid on it, and to be lucky enough to actually have gold cap lying around.
Nothing has prestige anymore. And if it did, blizzard probably ruined it somewhere anyways.

I sure am glad I earned the ZG tiger naturally and Blizzard never felt the need to give it back.

To be fair the Amani War Bear was stupid easy to get back then. And if we are allowed to transfer our WotLK Classic characters to retail alot of people are going to have it.
The ZG mounts werenāt presented as a limited time item ZG should never have been removed (nor ZA and Naxx 40 and other dungeons).

A raid being revamped so that it loses old stuff simply by being revamped doesnāt make anything from it prestigious.

That should not be a thing, imo.
Lots of stuff was removed from the game, like the Amani bear and tiger, but now you can just play Classic to earn it?
No, lol.
Classic is not the same as actual Vanilla.
A lot of us didnāt know wtf we were doing, or had awful computers and internet connections.
Even if things were easy, the playerbase as a whole was off doing other things back then, like leveling and playing current content over farming old stuff.
Killing old bosses for mounts is a core of retail, but not back then. We didnāt even have transmog, so old items you had were essentially useless.
Folks just played different and not to collect stuff.
The items didnāt become prestigious until after they were removed, because folks thought they could farm them forever just like any other.
And now people clamor for things they didnāt really want back then lol, or they would have grinded for it like the rest of us.
ZG tiger was in the game until Cata, you had years to get it.
By that logic we should remove all items from raids and dungeons of prior expansions that is not the current expansion.
Also people did collect stuff back then, even more so starting with WotLK. (which by the way could usually solo or duo ZG for mounts).
WotLK added the achievements system and thatās when it really started.
I farmed every reset and got ZG tiger back in early wrath.
I feel like if people were serious about it, theyād have done the same thing, or grinded gold to get it via BMAH.
Folks are just complaining because itās gone.
And strangely focused on some particular mounts instead of all the FOMO stuff weāve had over the years, like SL and DF mounts.
You canāt act like FOMO isnāt a part of this game- itās a huge part of it and what drives retail play for the most part.
Itās called ālimited timeā and ZG just fell victim to a revamp. Nothing is actually prestigious from that.

Yeah, Iām extremely lucky with that, but I never personally got my Amani battle bear despite the rest of my raid getting one, so I could care less lol.
Never got my bear, but the tiger works as my substitute.
They remove stuff all the time.
The tabard I wear on all of my characters was a TBC launch item, only around for a week.
Owner of a tiger for the low price of 9,999,999 gold here. The tiger should be returned as a drop source so people donāt have to spend eons farming gold for the minute chance of being on at the right time, on the right realm, to buy it.

ZG should never have been removed from the game in the first place. Many in WotLK thought eh Iāll go and grind the mounts next expansion and it will be easier because of the level cap, that is until they announced that Cata was removing ZG and everyone started panic farming for the mounts.
These dungeons and raids simple shouldnāt have been removed (Naxx 40 was removed and remade because the plans for the Nerubian Raid as the 1st tier fell through and they needed to come up with something fast). Blizzard right now is correcting those mistakes from the past by returning old Scholomance back to the game (and soon SM).

Pre-patch event items and achievements are entirely different and designed to be limited time.
RNG isnāt prestigious. I know someone who ran it EVERY reset from release to when they took it out. Itād have been one thing if he simply never won the roll but he never was in a group that SAW it drop.

The removal makes everyone that sees me ride it think Iām some kind of gold-shovelling player, when I really just got lucky killing Thekal one week.
I just feel they shouldnāt bring back stuff that has been removed, period.
Even when Iāve missed out on a large number of those items.
WoW was different then. It wasnāt entirely figured-out like it is now.
Itās not like the model aged well lol, itās more in-line with Classic. Iām honestly surpsied people still want it, but I feel the very reason people do (if they brought it back) would just ruin it like the Feldrake as a Twitch reward.
No one rides the Feldrake anymore because the very reason for it (rarity) was removed. Thereās better looking dragon mounts as well.
I just donāt support the idea. But Iām also of the mind that even the BMAH shouldnāt exist, either.
Itās just an underhanded way to sell tokens.
I wonder how many brutosaur owners bought them, and how many didnāt buy tokens at all. Iām willing to bet, more did.
Idk, I support rare drops, if they get removed, whatever, you should have grinded it when you could.

Lol itās almost at 20 year old game.
It will never grow by giving out things veterans treasure, like free ZG tigers.
Itāll go the same way as the Trading Post mounts.
Low-hanging fruit at best. No one is gonna stick around, and people like me will just quit because everything will eventually become a handout in desperation.
They (the devs/suits at the top) need to look at the gameās foundation itself, and make changes. Nothing else will work.
Imo, nothing short of a FF14 style full rework will get players to join this game to grow again.
I mean, even Iām playing Baldurās Gate 3, and I consider myself a very hardcore WoW player.
Or at least I used to be when I had friends here and the expansions werenāt just bubbles.
You get what you pay for, and WoW is McDonaldās.
