Anyone can see from playing the last week the pre-pre-patch wasn’t even ready, let alone the pre-patch event. People are complaining about scaling issues, phasing issues, profession issues. Why throw a beta pre-pre-patch down the pipe when it’s not even ready?
Why are we now paid beta testers?

Because we were promised a prepatch release. And on top of that, it gives us time to adjust to the changes. You think they’ll throw in everything all at once, be buggier than ever while we are left scrambling in confusion with the final major changes to our classes and other features?
So… Yeah, we’re given the time to adjust, level alts as needed before the event kicks off. And so that they’re given time to fix issues that are still lingering, if they can. Its better that they delay than, like I said, release all at once and become a disaster.

This part worked. That part didn’t.
You’re getting paid?

I meant are we paying to be beta testers now?

Pretty much yeah.
They made cut backs to the quality assurance some time ago.

Now? We’re paying to test for quite some time now

It was like what. 10 less QA people total across all of Blizzard’s games? So maybe 2 from WoW?
The pre-patch event NEVER launches with the pre-patch. Do people just not remember these things?
It always comes out a few weeks later.

The patch has its own patches I guess.
Sort of a minipatch.
But truthfully, who wants to spend a month running away from zombies?

Certainly didn’t make their job any easier.

I mean beta testing is about testing. If you’re sitting there submitting bug reports and not actually trying to get anything done…then ya, that’s exactly what you are.
For all we know it didn’t even effect anything. Many large companies use QA as a “contractor” type position, which doesn’t show up as company employees. They hire very few actual full time ones. Because, well. Most games dont need the same QA support year round. WoW certainly doesn’t.
This was atleast how it was when I worked QA.
According to the testers the zombies are severely weakened due to complaints.

True or not, the annoyance factor will soon overwhelm the quaint reenactment of a histroic event.
I didn’t think this was rocket science. Launch was pushed back, people were bent out of shape and bored, 9.0 was pushed out to give us something to do. There’s just a longer time between this and the event than normal.

People are still bored to tears in 9.0.1.
Not everyone. But that was to be expected. All those posts on here claiming so much excitement were hilarious.
That doesn’t make sense though. Now there is less to do. People are complaining they can’t even do transmog or island runs anymore because they’ve been depowered so much.

I mean “the thrill” of Exile’s Reach is gone after the first time through. The enjoyment of a quicker leveling process is gone after the first time, etc.
And basically every aspect of the prepatch has been riddled with bugs, there are hotfixes almost daily.
Scaling is still an issue in the content players seem to be interested to still do (i.e. Legion raids solo, or Islands for pets).
And the players who didn’t need to level new alts have little /nothing to do for weeks. It doesn’t take long to learn or get adjusted to class changes, maybe a few days max.

How is there less to do? Learn your class, customize the begeezus out of your characters, level new ones quickly to get heritage armor, level new classes you don’t have, get the Exile’s Reach transmogs, and learn to take friends into old raids and islands if there’s a problem.
It’s still more than what you had prior to this. Would you rather just be stuck in BfA only, no new customizations or anything, and have all of these bugs in prepatch needing to be fixed in less time than they have now?
