Maybe for you, not for everyone. It’s still more than we had prior to 9.0. Albeit not much more.
Better they have more time to fix them now than have everything borked at once come launch.
Then they’re still in the same boat they were earlier. So who cares? This just gives Blizz more time to fix stuff.
Anyone who thought a change of this magnitude was ever going to go smoothly on live servers clearly doesn’t remember any of the previous major revamps or scaling.
And anyone who thought 9.0 was going to give them so much more to do than about a week’s worth of stuff was being overly hopeful.
But Blizz had to throw them a bone. Otherwise, subs would’ve dropped more.
the squish and the customization was a lot of work and its something that is available to everyone so it gets priority over the actual shadowlands content
so I imagine they want to get that out of the way beforehand
And others wouldn’t. Blizzard made the decision to push it out and not lose subs. We just have to soldier through like we always do and report the bugs. Or unsub. Whichever people want to do. I prefer to report a bunch of bugs every day.
In other words: it is what it is now. Prepatches comes in parts. These parts just happen to have more time between them. The bugs were absolutely going to be staggering. Blizz took a shot to try to keep subs up. And here we are.
People were leaving the game. Some people who intend to leave for a while never come back. They needed to release something, so we got this.
I can see some of the old content I do has been nerfed a bit, maybe because of all the mog-and-mount runners who now couldn’t farm them anymore and had nothing to do.
Devs don’t have their finger on the pulse of the playerbase. They go by their gut feelings and sometimes it’s off.
Lies, Legion event came as soon as prepatch launched.
Every week the invasions were getting stronger and harder.
But as soon as i conected that day i made my invasion in Hillsbrad with 100+ peeps more and my friends.
Same hanging around as Dreadlord, playing the DH or hunting the Doomsayers toy.
From memory the prepatch event never started the day the prepatch released. They always have a gap so things can be tested and hopefully fixed before the event
May have been different pre cata since I never played the pre patches of bc or wrath as I played mid way through both of those expacs.
My guess is there weren’t programmers on the planning team that set the date and allocated resources to achieve it. To be this far off suggests huge mistakes.
People wanted their cosmetics and alot people who didn’t farm out echoes for corruption or momentos for sockets wanted new content.
So ta-da! Here we are now.
In content purgatory. With all meaningful upper upper tier rewards removed sans 2 mounts.
So since the arena season is over. I’ve been spending my time increasing my quest completion count. 200 more quests on horde and I’ll be top 500 in world for unique quests done. Finish all of them and maybe top 50-100. Double-dipping with a maghar warrior, for extra weapon appearances too. Nothing else to do really. Although I probably should be playing ret in arena while it is busted.
Should have seen bfa’s prepatch. People exploiting darkshore honor farms, quests getting deleted from your log if you go to another map, under the table hotfixes to break group finder. Mobs escaping the automatic tuning squish, so they one shot.
This! I alway find it hilarious when a player makes a legitimate complain and someone tries to dismiss it. Like saying I don’t have this problem, so it means no one else does. Listen, I am not sure if you are a Blizzard PR drone, but just because you are happy with the way things are does not mean everyone else is, if you get off your high horse and really read the comments, perhaps you can see that these complaints are reasonable
