well P1 was big as was fresh+pvp+good event+bg+raid+gdkp more alts=more gold . P2 is gdkp dead = less alts to carry on, unless you play in big guild with big core teams. and 1 raid and 1 event and 1 bg… P3 we will see so far we have more content then P1 and P2 combined and at P4 will be even more…
GDKP ban, less raid participation and less activity in general.
They saw subs dropping so they boost xp and announce P3 quick to minimize their losses. Only problem is P3 will have even less raid participation than P2.
And not only GDKP ban ofc, but each phase sod is increasingly turning out to be a disappointment because of clueless, lazy and hypocritical devs/employees and non-existent customer support. All WoW versions have this issue, but seems like SoD got the cream of the crop of the amateurs.
Because people rushed to 40 and complained there was nothing to do. Phase 3 may be the same. Hopefully phase 4 lasts forever otherwise those crying to release a new phase faster will regret that
Players or characters?
We don’t have data on how many players there are or were.
The retention rate for p2 was lower because there wasnt really much new. And everything was dungeon grind SM all the way to 40 for most optimal exp.
And gnomer, i never once did gnomer. Because the loot is trash. BFD i did every lock out on the other hand.
And lastly, most runes were lame passives this time around. Phase 1 really had game changing ones. Phase 2 had only 2 slots. Its obvious why less players sticked around once they finished everything.
Because it was bad, worse then phase 1
Had nothing to do with the GDKP ban, this is simply how MMOs work now. This isn’t 2004, it’s a declining genre. You can see this in just about every MMO that launches now. Massive playerbase on launch followed by a slow bleed.
And before you ask how we know it’s not because of the GDKP ban, I’ll answer. Because you all are still here crying about.
Gdkp isnt coming back.
I love how basically everyone saying the game is dying are basically Projecting their own insecurities about their money laundering techniques lmao.
Opie wanted this thread to fill up with “because my GDKPs”
…but it ain’t happening
Blizzard always caves to the crying sweatlord elite guilds and they were bored.
Because no one cares about this leveling adventure, deep down. We are entertaining it because of the runes.
In reality people want to hit 60 so that their full kit is unlocked as well as being able to scale with gear.
SoD is completely meh for scaling classes. This is like summer camp for people who aren’t interested in Warrior or Rogue.
oh no what are we going to do
Retail has people who log in to go fly to an expansion from like 6 years ago to collect pets and stuff. I personally know people IRL who are currently doing that, that’s all they do. Everyone else is waiting for S4 to possibly push keys. No one I know in retail cares about raiding anymore either and if they do, they moonlight raid with other guilds, they don’t pug.
