They’re doing away with needing to switch servers. The new login in screen will display ALL your characters, regardless of what server they’re on.
We have updated the Character Select screen so you can see your entire Warband in one list of characters. You will no longer need to swap between realms to see characters on those other realms.
imagine needing to do elite pvp 2200 to get a new background which shows more characters LOL
or mythic raid

why make more work for yourself
Because this smacks of “Bring the player, not the class” and i think that did a ton of damage to WoW. It was the start of sweaty, eSports mentality, it ushered in homogeny, and it ceapped on utility as a viable role.
Having to choose, not getting it all, it creates meaningful choice in a way the game never has.
i dont think rep matters much in the grand scheme of things
Mog farming and achievements do
hey at least now if someone asks for your achievement of x boss kill you can link it on a character that didnt earn it
