Why transmog should never happen in classic

Honestly the #nochanges crowd were always a bunch of hypocrites, #nochangesexceptthechangesiwant

maybe. but only two have been announced, and those two are insignificant and in no way indicate they’d go as far as adding retail features like you want.

Guild banks and boosts have entered the chat. Guild banks are a much bigger actual game play impact than transmog which is purely cosmetic.

We also know they’re doing something with attunes and they won’t be the same as they were in TBC, no details yet. They’re also using a post TBC ranking system for arena.

just out of curiosity, what is your primary rationale besides the fact it wasnt there originally?

boost is a store feature. doesn’t effect gameplay. doesn’t matter.

guild banks were added in TBC 2.3, idk what you’re even talking about.

You wanna know how mogs affect gameplay?

They make the old content actually relevant.

Crappy feature I know.

Is this a joke?

or they remove all significance to player appearance, as anyone can look like anything in any gear. garbage feature tbh, and no place for it in TBC.

I know this is a prolly a weird thing to say, but you looking at a character in game isnt being social. You’re more likely to compliment a mog rather than compliment the 50th person you see wearing T3

Patrick Dawson: We talked earlier in the Burning Crusade deep dive about embracing some changes, like understanding this a modern community playing a game that is a little different from the way people played it back then. So we are open to making quality of life changes for stuff like that.

At least they are honest about the bait and switch.

There is no such thing as significance to player appearance in regards of tier sets anymore, because everyone and their brother is wearing the same thing. With mogs you get to see the players creativity, which imo is far more interesting than whether they cleared faceroll content.

Transmogs aren’t QoL, they’re a feature of a future expansion that doesn’t belong in TBC.

In your opinion.

That clip 100% proves you wrong.

not exactly. if the original ruleset was employed, you wouldnt be able to —

-mog items your class/race/level and in some cases, spec, cant wear
-you cant mog legendaries
-you cant mog weapon appearances that arent the same weapon category, example, daggers only mogged by daggers, 1h swords only mogged by 1h swords

etc

As long as I can mog my sword into a fishing pole Im golden

lol
