Transmog is bad for a game like classic. The main reason classic wow did so well (That I noticed) was the social dynamic. Something that is not as practiced in retail wow. Transmog is by far not even close to the main reason the social dynamic, but I do think that it defiantly adds it. The reason I say this is because your character in classic WoW is heavily determined by many things, one of which is the gear you have along side with personality, your guild…ect. Transmog to me always seemed like it took away from the new designed gear or current highest gear.
Besides the social aspect as someone who pvps a lot it helped determine what type of opponent you are up against. It is always a good feeling beating someone who has way more gear than you. And also a bad feeling getting beat by someone with less gear. These are feelings that classic should preserve.
Some of the changes that blizzard have announced to BC classic thusfar have not harmed the social dynamic of the game and in fact helped it. For some of those who don’t know this, BC was the turning point of why alliance is a super under played faction.

Transmogs were fun when they hit. I prefer not to have them in Classic for PvP reasons.

Well I agree mostly with this. As I never experienced transmog anyways. But in today’s game every Tom, Dick and Harry are wearing full T3 gear. Back in Vanilla this was not the case. Every day I see mages wearing Naxx gear from guilds I have never even heard of on Pagle.
Your ego is so fragile you cry when you get beat by someone in PVP because they changed their gear to rags to hide their power? Sure few people transmogged to look like crap but maybe they did.
They will never put it in TBC, but at this point does it really matter.
Exactly what liriel sad, people say that gear matters more in classic or the items are recognizable but tbh everyone just running around with tier 3/ Aq gear and even BWL that at this point it doesn’t really matter
Transmog does nothing to add or take away from the social aspect of the game… Like what? lol

It’s never, ever going to happen.
“Why?” you ask?
“Because programming transmog would cost some serious money Bobby ain’t dipping into his yacht fund for that. No way, no how.” I sez in reply.

Transmog has no place in TBC Classic, and will not be added. /thread

The very simple solution to this is to make transmog a client side option, you don’t like it you toggle it off and see gear as is. People who like transmog leave it on and can see how people want to look.

Money talks, and that’s why none of these begged for changes are going to happen. Dual spec? Costs money to program in. Dungeon Finder? Costs money to program in. Transmog? Costs money to program in.
Blizzard isn’t spending a penny more than required to TBC Classic up and running, so the only possible changes are nerfs and buffs and simple things like the Seal change.

You seem to forget these are technically features we already have, since you know modern game engine, that are just disabled for classic. So it’s not a question of programming them in.

There’s a whole lot more to it than just flipping a switch.

There’s also a whole lot less than adding them from scratch.

It’s still an expense Bobby isn’t going to okay.

I’ve suggested as a compromise for people who like and don’t like transmog that we can both have what we want.
Let players transmog but add a gameplay setting called “See players actual gear” which means that when other players see you they won’t see transmogs but the gear you are actually wearing.

TFG for Blizzard being cheap for once^^. I hope you’re right.
Transmog is terrible. Part of human social interaction is appearance. What your character is wearing says something about your character and you as a player. Ever heard of the term “people watching?” Transmog removes all of that and was another step in the transition of WoW from a game that was about community to a game that is about the individual, with no community.

Exactly, which is why people like to actually be able to customize their appearance instead of everyone looking exactly the same.
