Just ignore chat they will get the point. It’s annoying I get and it makes you want to jump off the cliff. Just do what you are supposed to do though. Stop the EFC, challenge mid. Get in on those team fights removing healers from bases.

Hopefully some day players in this game will understand Tanks as they are the foundation and we get more buffs to require Tanks in all forms of PvP.

Tanks are outside their comfort zone and even if the tank is good, that DPS player doesn’t know how to work with their play style.
To drag another game into it, it’s Bastion Syndrome. Bastion was, technically, the best character in Overwatch for every role that wasn’t speed oriented DPS, support, or tank.
The problem? If Bastion isn’t backed up, he’s very easy to pick off. So you’re beholden to your team’s own teamwork to play well. Which lead to constant situations where teams would deliberately- or not so deliberately- force their Bastion into unwinnable situations and then blame the Bastion when it was their own fault.
Which was why Blizzard had to radically alter Bastion’s design to make him more independent.
Another version of this is Leona Syndrome from League of Legends. If your team doesn’t know how to work with you they will repeatedly leave you under performing and in unwinnable situations and then blame you for their own incompetence.
It’d be nice if Blizzard made tanks viable in PVP but that’s asking a lot. And even if they did, your average DPS isn’t capable of working with a tank.

people that think tanks shouldn’t have a place in pvp are dense and unable to see things from others perspective. tanks should have a place in ALL PVP. Adjust their abilities if needed, but people shouldn’t be forced to change from their primary spec or something they enjoy just to participate.

There is no PvP without Tanks. They are the foundation of PvP. Other games have better and more competitive PvP because they have Tank roles.

I’m not one of these players that likes to play every class, every spec, and can just pick and choose from day to day. I have tried several classes over the years but always come back to my favorites: #1 Prot Paladin and #2 Outlaw Rogue.
My Prot Pally has been my Main since 2009, and I really, REALLY, don’t want to play anything else.
My Rogue is at 70. I haven’t played him in a few years, so I’ve spent the past few days looking at swapping from Outlaw to Sub and trying to wrap my mind around the rotation, keybinds, and whatnot.
I’ll keep playing my Prot Paladin, cap weekly Conquest, then work on leveling up my Rogue.

Ignoring the hate in chat is getting harder and harder to do (and the whispers are worse), to the point that I haven’t played my Prot Paladin Main in a few days. I did get Conquest cap however.
So today, new Conquest cap. I’ll get back in there on my beloved Prot Paladin, and try my best to ignore the hate. I really don’t want to swap to anything else.
Best I can do is keep doing my best to play the Objectives, and do my part for my team.

It’s easy report and they are blocked (so you can’t read it) and they get banned. The problem solves itself in time.
I report anyone on the forums or in game for toxic hate towards Tanks. No place for it, it’s unacceptable. PvP can be awesome by cleaning up the community.

Ah! That explains it. I made a report a few days ago and the offending chat instantly disappeared from my view. So Report is like an insta-block?
Do you put details in the box they provide, or just basic report > text?

but having CLOTH CASTERS
that are harder to kill than any tank, thus ‘tankier’
do a lot more damage than any tank
can heal as well as a healer
can apply an unlimited amount of snares, roots, fears
ultra mobile
thats better than a real tank who
takes 25% more damage from all sources in pvp
cant heal well
has less cc than all the cloth casters
and
does 1/4 the damage of any dps out there

Ignore the haters.
For every tank, there are:
- Unholy DKs that don’t need to do anything but spam chains and grip on the FC while doing big passive damage.
- DHs that carry the flag without the need of a peel
- Warlocks that do triple everyone’s damage
- Healers that never go OOM

It’s rather annoying that people are so self-involved they cannot keep their asinine comments to themselves. I’d rather not block anyone since verbal communication is important in team games, but people being overtly verbally aggressive ruins the enjoyment of the game for everyone involved. At the turn of this century, I used to ‘slap the dog on it’s nose’. Then I’d got actioned a few times for responding in a sort of kind and made some enemies. No biggie, but folk online these days are more unstable and more likely to escalate into long term grudges-stalkers. If you cannot take the verbal lashings you give out, then perhaps you shouldn’t be saying anything in the first place.

Nah they have nothing constructive to say and it’s good when they are perma banned.
I had a healer say imagine Queing as Prot, I said imagine being 300 CR lower than Prot. They got tilted and wouldn’t heal me. I just reported them. These types of players add nothing to the game and it’s fine if they get removed for violating ToS.

You’re the one out there playing tank on hard mode. Prot Pal has been neglected and flat out abused to the point of being near unplayable. I believe both Abom and I, who were Prot Pal enthusiasts, have shelved ours until if and when they are fixed.
The highest one in Blitz hasn’t reached 1900 yet, and the rest fall off sharply after that. Good luck, and may the odds forever be in your favor.

I agree, warlocks are filth. Never said those creatures were okay.
Honestly, it isn’t limited to warlocks either. There is a lot of poor design. But this is just retail WoW now.
I am so glad somebody put SWTOR tanking in this conversation because that game got PVP tanking (and dare I say even PVE tanking) right on the money. Tanks in PVP definitely should be set up as protectors of the team regardless of what spec/class they are! Every role should be viable, regardless of what it may be whether it’s PVP or PVE and blizzard needs to work on giving all three of these roles better tool kits on doing their job
