Why the lack of Customization?

Did you know high heels were first invented by and for men?
It was used to keep the feet in the stirrups so they do not fall off the horse.

You still aren’t an actual High Elf Sara, RP options doesn’t make less of a Void Elf, you still turn blue in combat, you still bleed a different color and your hair still has holes in it where tentacles should be.

It sucks because even the ARs and core races on the same factions aren’t sharing assets. Not that any void elf assets have been shared to blood elves either.

Those who were against High Elves are as much a single monolithic entity as those who were in favor of them.

Speaking for myself, I didn’t want a blatant copy/paste of Blood Elves, but that’s what we’ve been given as a compromise. I wanted High Elves with a new model, different hair styles, different customizations, class options that set them apart from Blood Elves by additions, not by lacking.

The people who are upset about Void Elves being copy/pasted Blood Elves might’ve been happy if all that had happened. Just as I’m sure there are some people who didn’t want the Alliance to get playable High Elves whom still take delight in saying things such as, “You’re not a High Elf, you still turn purple and your race says Void Elf, you’ll never be a High Elf.”

The list will take a while. I have two projects due and homework I’m behind on due to not having power in my house for several weeks.

Does it bother you that people like me point out the truth Solar? I mean clearly you know that RP options doesn’t make you a completely different race when you still turn purple, your blood bleeds a different color and you have holes in your hair? That is more than likely why you and others like you request to have hair fixed, have option to turn off the purple glow in combat or change the color, etc.

That’s what most of us wanted, though. And our suggestions were always rejected on the basis that “political allegiance is not a reason for a faction to look different in physical terms” (and yet we have Kul Tirans…).

No point in arguing though, that ship has sailed, burned and sunk.

Part of the reason people point out the status of RP tools is because of future BE additions as well, things like Farstrider tattoos being an exclusive for Blood Elf culture that we should not have to even discuss this scenario of sharing anything in the future unique as well.

Indeed. My point was, I think those upset over the, ‘visual uniqueness,’ of Blood Elves being lost might have at least been satisfied had High Elves been made to look different from Blood Elves.

Indeed.

It’s almost like such a stance backfired badly.

I look at things realistically, RP options doesn’t change what you actually are inside or in the lore and further than that if Blizzard would have wanted Alliance to have actual High Elves like they did Horde, they would have given them High Elves instead of Void Elves from the get go like they did us.

Also there’s nothing wrong with RP options I don’t think you or I think that for one, I’d love BEs to get the same RP tool arrangement for a second visual theme, so what? It shouldn’t be presented as what is said is done out of a bad place.

I would say in hindsight I disagree with the RP options on VEs given this continuing ongoing issue its created, but the actual idea of RP options is cool in my book. But there’s also nothing to be done on that end, but there’s no harm in pointing out the status of RP options especially as people move to lay claim to future additional requests that should be Blood Elf exclusives.

I can agree with you and I’m all for the whole RP standpoint like I said last night before I went to bed but for me it’s with a limit because I don’t actually want things copy/paste from Void Elves to Blood Elves or Night Elves to Nightborne, I want actual new stuff that’s just for my races and not for them.

Thinking about it…

I don’t understand giving RP options to servers that don’t actually RP.

I know. And I am glad to have my high elf options through Void Elves. Although yeah, still wanted a different model for them, there isn’t much that I can do. And Blizzard going this way because they didn’t want to add a new AR when there is already 2 playable groups on either faction, I completely understand from Blizzard’s point of view.

But in the end, all I can do is just suggest more options that I would like to see.

After all, Void Elves are basically High Elves in the same sense to Blood Elves being High Elves.

It’s basically like playing dress up or pretend, nothing more.

Your list is also valid for Void Elves.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there were other shares of customizations between VE/BE.

Indeed. Anything “High Elf aesthetic” is valid to be given to both VE and BE.

Indeed.

People need to understand that there is no “High Elf monopoly”. High Elf customizations will forever be shared between Blood and Void Elves. And the sooner people understand this, the better.

Those who value visual distinction should emphasize Blood Elven themes. Ariel makes great suggestions regarding Blood Anima customizations. I totally support that.

While it may be valid for Void Elves, they’ve already gotten one and a half passes. Why should they get more stuff while Blood Elves have gotten practically nothing compared to them?

At this time Void Elf men (an allied race) are very close to passing Blood Elf men (a core race) on option combinations and that’s not okay. And it’s only a matter of time before they surpass, that’s how destitute Blood Elves are.

Blood Elves need things that are unique them that aren’t plucked off of them like the wings of a butterfly and given to Void Elves.
