Ah that’s a good point! I hadn’t considered the tentacles as particle effects!
It was one of my bummers with ARs, along with alliance getting both of the explicitly void and light races when it looked like we were going headlong into that clash for the story, Blizz introduced that stuff for models and only the Alliance got any.
Gotcha! It would be nice to see more of those sorts of features doled out among the races. I’m glad Nightborne are getting the glowy hands. I hope they get some glowy hair options in the future too!
They get a lot of stuff that’s just for them but yet they still claim Horde bias, lol.
Much like Hunter gear, EVERYTHING is horde bias
Same. The Velf chest looks good, but also doesn’t work if one wants a less skimpy mog. It’s hard to match with shirts and tabards are ugly.
Separating the wings as a velf natural option makes a lot of sense, because really, if they are just armor…why? why would they exist or why would velfs wear them…
Oh you meant special glow? because the velves have none?, their tentacles look like they glow but it’s just the type of colour they have.
that being said the NB stuff is completely new
Is a new type of effect so the alliance has none of that
so I assumed you ere just talking about Alliance getting extra stuff otherwise your comment made no sense.
Very constructive. Thank you for this amazing feedback alliance players never received before in this forum.
Better? Have you ever looked at male NE faces? The body paint is a bad, lazy work. The eyebrows they received are a meme. The skin colors are locked by gender. Jewelry, tattoo and eyebrows too. No other race have so many features locked by gender.
Or it’s the same effect on a spot that’s more involved in animations so they had to do something different in prepping it for it to work right. It’s still in the same broad glowy bits category as the alliance hairs. And not like alliance hasn’t gotten some extra effort expended on some of their ARs that horde didn’t.
I was responding to someone acting like the void elves getting glowy hands was some horrible slight to the alliance who apparently didn’t get anything remotely like that. So I pointed out that the alliance did in fact already have a similar type of look that the horde has lacked.
Linxy is literally saying that is a new type of effect lol, “unique nature” “more involved” “unique customization option”.
Is the same type of effect as what?
Again velves don’t glow and DI have the fire effect/texture WoW has just put over their beards (not saying it’s a bad thing , saying is not the same thing). So alliance has nothing new like that. So the comment didn’t make sense from that perspective.
It is pretty stupid specially the skin colours and tattos.
Alright you’re a lot so I’m just gonna go ahead and move on.

Not like they’re vastly different in appearance. Although I think the void elf effect is a nicer one. But the point was the tit for tat arguing is pretty stupid, nightborn getting a glowing bit doesn’t touch on an alliance toes nor does it tread brand new ground that the alliance doesn’t have. It may have some backend differences, but so what? It’s still a glow part on the model, if they have to do something different if it’s on the hands than when it’s on hair that just effects the devs, it doesn’t make one glowy effect on a model completely separate from other glowy effects.
Nightborne npcs had glowing hair before the void elves even existed tbh. We still don’t have that sadly.
Kindly requesting communication on if you are done with your pass on the Legion Allied Races Blizzard.
Also from another thread but relevant…

Can both Draenei get blemishes/skin splotches? Makes me think of one of their OG concept arts <3
Also, the Eredar Twins have those different eyes.

Blizzard pls.
Nightborne have been so shafted since they were added to playable even and it’s really sad but what’s sadder is how many people act like they are getting so much fixed with the new customizations being added, I mean sure they are an improvement but it doesn’t fix any of the real problems or the player model so.
I have an entire section about the Heritage armor and some changes people tend to request on that front on my Void Elf Customization thread.
Same.
Added it to the Draenei thread while I can still post and edit!
Yeah hope is a thing they touch on. Having the wings and possible floating stance they had on their first presentation would do so much for them.
Have you looked at the NB male faces either?
Believe me, we have a comparison image on this very thread and the Nelves aren´t the ones that look like grandpas even WITHOUT the snarl bug.
U-hu, that´s why Nelf posters want them too for the female toon, right?
Cause they are “bad”.
I´d absolutely exchange the “bad, lazy” body paint with the basically invisible tattoos of the NB model. Yours AT LEAST can be seen permanently.
Dude, both genders have 12 skin color options available each… that´s still waaay more than what the NB have. If anything the only bummer -that i´ve seen petitioned in here and we have supported too- is to normalize the “body paint / facial tattoo” stuff between genders -let the females get the body options, let the males access the female options, let thye color scale used by the female markings become available for the body paint. There,. easy fixes.
I still can make a much more unique Nelf than a NB -who I bet will switch between 3 face options instead of one at the most-.
Belf jewelry is so amazing, that’s why ppl want them for both genders ppl want stuff for both, because options locked by gender are stupid.
Nelves aren’t the ones getting fixed.
And you think NE have more than 3 faces to choose from? LOL males literally have 1, and females have less than NB now. All Female NE faces have ugly puffy cheeks, while NB don’t.
I don’t play male night elf (or any male character) so i can’t talk much about them but female nelf faces aren’t that great, i prefer Nightborne faces over night elves.
