I think the issue here is that every time these issues have been brought up in the past, it either doesn’t get as much traction due to lower population numbers, or just a general sense of defeat and lack of morale.
A very large amount of the Night Elf regulars I used to know have quit either WoW based social media due to the rampant toxicity given to them from gestures to this thread, especially after the start of BFA, or the entire game due to the mishandling of the race in general.
We’re getting things now, but after years of being insulted or actually trolled - not disagreed with, but spammed into oblivion - they sort of gave up.
It would be nice to raise a stink about it, it absolutely does suck that a vanilla parent race is going to potentially still have this massive bug that ruins the majority of their faces, but the numbers just aren’t there. (Which sucks, because if this mismanagement never happened in the first place, the numbers would likely be there. I know I’d still have a blue avatar myself if factions didn’t rot, for example, and people get mad if I post on my main alt, and I rarely partake in campaigns and feedback because I’m just exhausted trying because of people like “uhm achkshully horde only”.)
I just love reading these comments. I wonder what you guys are thinking when you are typing this? The Nightborne share same skeleton and faces with the Nightelves, which means there was a bug which caused both of the races to have that bug, does not matter on which race you fix it, both will be fixed.
If you have checked, back in SL beta, both Nightelf/borne got their faces fixed, however upon release of the SL, the bug came back.
…that’s not how that works.
From what I understand of how the system works, they’d still have to go apply the fix to Male Nelfs, and with no indication they’re going to manually do that, people are assuming the worst because that’s what we’ve come to expect.
Luckily, this is the time they can use to fix that. And some of us, even the more volatile ones, are hoping they will so we can stop being grumpy.
What f bothers me is not even that, is that they choose to keep alliance models actually broken and don’t give a f, but god forbid a horde players complains about minor things.
They aren’t though, as they were produced under special conditions that forced them to just live breathe and drink mana and they aren’t even an empire. If anything the only natural evolution went to the Thalassians at most.
They considered themselves better and then needed rescuing from the other elves. Elves being dumb is meaningless.
I hope you folks get fixed faces/more faces that you want as well in terms of night elves! Hopefully they’ll see the feedback and clarify if it’s coming up.
There’s also the whole notion that the void elves now have students from both the Blood and High Elves.
We have no actual lore, so a lot of people presume that a fair number of void elves using the more “natural” options are at a midway point. Especially since it’s been stated that the original transformation has yet to be repeated.
But this isn’t apparently a void elf, nor void/dark magic theme. (PS; SUPER excited for this, and I’m torn between race changing my worgen warlock to her, or just leveling another lock simply because I have never fallen in love with an appearance in an MMO this hard before.)
And this stems into the fact that I have to defensively state that I’m hoping they add extra effects like the tentacles (…not actually tentacles, but you know, an extra effect) to blood elves to reflect their exposure to the Sunwell, just as the exposure to fel in TBC gave them the green eyes, but much more OTT, and with fire/arcane tints as well.
Dark Rangers can - as a valid request - mirror San’layn, so each faction has some flavor of Thalassian with it’s own aesthetic spin with equal amounts of flavour.
